yeah ok...how does his game films look?... It's not something you just ignore I remember people defending Jarvis Jones a few years back after a subpar combine performance saying "Just look at his tape!" He's been a total disappointment so far. And Jones actually ran faster than Spence and didn't have the baggage off the field, although there was also the concern about the whole "spinal stenosis" thing. u pick one guy...anecdotal...the vast amount of decisions made in the draft come from watching tape...

Yeah, no shit. But you're kidding yourself if you don't think coaches and front office personnel put a ton of stock into these workouts.

His 40 wasn't great, but his 10 yard split, broad jump and vertical were pretty good. The 10 yard split is probably just as important as the 40 for an edge rusher.

I think I like the fact that Noah Spence didn't light it up at the combine. It enhances the chance that he lasts until the 20th pick.

I think what it does is what guys like Mayock and Jeremiah have said in the past, if a guy performs exceptionally well or exceptionally poor at the combine it just makes the scouts go back and watch more tape to see if the guy is playing faster or slower than they thought. It can also in a few cases mean that a player has not put the work in to do well. There are some front offices and people however that do 100% for sure get influenced a fair bit. Al Davis, our won Jets on guys like Stephen Hill and Keller.

Spence 10 yard splits were pretty good 1.62 and 1.65 (unofficial). Didn't he have a hammy issue recently?
