We might as well draft him in the 2nd. Our 2nd rounders invariably suck, so no harm picking him there.

I'd take a hard look at him from the 5th round onward.

This kid will heal. 3rd round 2nd round whichever. He will be fine. yes...he will heal. The problem is this.....even if he was perfectly healthy all rookies are a risk to ever succeed in the NFL. If this kid has what all notable parties agree is a catastrophic injury then he now falls into the category "job security risk" as in if you are the GM and knew full well the reports on his injury and unlike a broken bone nerve injuries are never a sure thing to heal why would you take a risk that high in the draft? It is very questionable judgement....especially for a GM that is only in his 2nd year. There is no track record to fall back on here and this fan base isnt exactly known for its patience.

Better yet, let's draft only healthy players and spread a rumor that our Docs feel good about his recovery and we will likely take him in rounds 3 or 4. Then watch some other poor sucker draft him. This is no time to be rolling dice and/or rooting for Rudy-like overcoming of hardships and physical obstacles. This is the time to draft physical beasts who answered "knife" when asked at the combine "if you had to kill a man would you use a gun or a knife."

This guy is worth the risk. I'm excited to see which one of us is right. Obviously he could never heal, but man if he does he's going to be a beast

Maybe he's available to us in Rd. 3 now. I love this kid as a player and as a leader. Wait the year and enjoy the effort and play the following 3.

The problem with taking a guy like Jack in the 2nd is that you pay a high price for a guy you only get on a 4 year contract....one of those years you know he's not going to play and the 2nd year he'll be working off almost 24 months of rest.
If you take him you can't invest anything higher then a 4th or 5th at best....if that.

Feel bad for the kid, but based on the reports, he is probably off some team's boards completely. Maybe a team with multiple comp picks takes a shot in the 4th or 5th, but I would be surprised if he went any earlier.
