Comp picks for 2016 were announced today. So they can be added to the grid. Still can't be traded. (trading comp picks begins in 2017, when the Jets get a bunch of them). Also for the grid, no Pats 1st rounder (cheating) and no Chiefs 3rd rounder (maclin tampering). Might want to hold off on the Chiefs change just yet as they are appealing that.

Anybody have any idea why no 7th rounders? It doesn't seem fair with all of those 6th rounders.

I am not going to update / finalize the draft order until the day before we get started. Although the Chiefs appeal will likely still be pending in two weeks.

How the fuck did NE get compensation for Revis when he was cut? He signed a 2 year deal that everyone knew would never see the second year of, it was only too get him under the cap with a resulting cap hit the next year. Then they cut him and get a third rounder? What am I missing? He was a 5 million dollar cap hit........how in the fuck does a cap hit player result in a compensatory pick?

It was a one year deal with an option for each additional year. So when NE elected not to exercise the option, Revis became a FA. Technically different from a cut. His contract had run out and wasn't renewed. He was not terminated during a contract technically. All semantics. It's a loophole that the Pats legal/cap team discovered and other teams are now using it. Leave it to the Pats to discover and implement any shady little loophole in the league rules.

Appreciate the response. Can you or anyone cite one other example of this happening? I'm talking about a team carrying dead money and also receiving a comp pick for that player. I've never heard of option years in the NFL where no contract is guaranteed. Essentially every player in the league is currently in an option year.

If there's any one else that wants in, I can give up the Dirty Birds.
