So, I think the Jets will actually resign Fitzpatrick when the dust settles, but let's just play hypotheticals. If Ryan does not sign, who would you feel most comfortable starting for us next year? Notice how I say comfortable and not desired. If you had to settle, who would it be?
I was going to add Paxton Lynch but that's more of a guess if he's going to be there when we pick while these other guys are actually options right now.

I'd say RG3. If no Fitz, I would sign him and assume he beats out Geno in camp for the gig. I would like Petty to sit for one more year, and then hopefully he'll be ready if RG3 is anything less than spectacular in '16.

I say Petty or other. Geno scares me but we don't know if he made any improvements to his reads or maturity. I don't think Kaepernick or RG3 are coachable. Sanchez is a possibility but he didn't show much with the Eagles so I think he is about the same as Geno all in all.
Perfect world, I would like an open competition between Petty, Geno and Fitz or whoever gets signed and may the best man win.

The Petty love makes me roll my eyes. Why don't we just start a tree branch.

The Petty love makes me roll my eyes. Why don't we just start a tree branch. I don't get it. We've seen what a quarter of play from him against 3rd stringers in the preseason? Until I see something of substance from him I have to assume people just have Kellen Clemens/Brett Ratliff/Matt Simms syndrome. The QB on the bench is always the most popular guy in Jetland until he actually sees the field...

Also, Brooks Bollinger was a stud just waiting in the wings, never got a chance

The Petty love makes me roll my eyes. Why don't we just start a tree branch. It's the hope. After seeing what Brady did everyone thinks every quarterback who hasnt been given a shot could be the one. Clemens, Ratliff, McElroy, Matt simms, Petty, literally every quarterback. If they don't play they could be the one... Sometimes there's a reason these guys don't play, because the coaches see them everyday. Petty is different, he simply wasn't ready. If he doesn't play this year, you know what you have in him.. Just another Ratliff who could become a clemens (solid backup quarterback)
