This is not a negotiation ploy to get Fitz, this is a GM upgrading the position.
No one wants him and neither does Mac.

What's this dude's deal besides his injuries? Cannon of an arm, mobile as hell, quick, thin skin, possible leadership issues...that about sum it up?

All of this will be hilarious if Petty miraculously wins the starting job & dominates this season. Lol. We don't ever tend to get that lucky, but you just never know with the way our luck has been in the short time the new regime has taken over.

Risky move, but Fitz may want to consider just sitting out for now. Sooner or later a starting QB will go down. Either in training camp or pre season or early season. He will then become a hot commodity. Especially if it is a team with Super Bowl hopes.

We're going to wind up with Geno Fucking Smith. These assholes are getting way to cute. They should remember we're the Jets not a fucking celebrated franchise. After Geno gets cut he can back up Little Markie in Denver again.

He will then become a hot commodity. Especially if it is a team with Super Bowl hopes. The cap space from teams will be eaten up by then due to more roster signings like free agency & the draft. He may end up with way less than what the Jets offered him. The pressure is building for him. He needs to decide sooner than later.

If he's dead set on that, his goofy ass might as well retire. Because it's not happening. It should be obvious to everyone by this point that Fitz and his agent are trying to get the Jets in a bidding war with themselves. Denver traded for Sanchez, the Rams still have Foles and tendered Case Keenum at the 1st round level, and Cleveland has been letting their best players walk out the door because they're a bunch of cheap fucks, they sure as hell aren't paying a 33 year old journeyman QB that kind of dough. Not to mention it's essentially guaranteed they're taking Wentz or Goff #2 overall. Fitz either has to crawl back to the Jets or make $5 million a year and go be a backup somewhere.
