Any feedback on my Steelers Draft? And yes I know it was D heavy but that is where all of their holes are. 1/25 William Jackson III, CB, Houston 2/58 Sua Cravens, S, USC 3/89 Jihad Ward, DT, Illinois 4/123 Tyrone Holmes, OLB, Montana 6/220 Marquez North, WR, Tennessee 7/229 Caleb Benenoch, OT, UCLA 7/246 Vincent Valentine, NG, Nebraska Steelers definitely need D so I like this draft. You're first 2 picks are really good. I don't know enough about Ward to comment so I'll have to check him out. As you know I love Holmes. I think the 4th round is a little high for him. However, you didn't have a 5th rounder I think it was smart to take him. Marquez North is the perfect sleeper WR in this draft. He has all the tools to be great. I doubt the Jets take a WR early on so I'd love to see them grab North or Carroo in the mid/late rounds.

When I made the pick I felt the same way, probably a little too early but he's never going to be around for my next pick. After doing more research after my pick I think he is going to be a riser. Prototypical size and frame, great measurables, and the production to back it up albeit against inferior competition. He's also doing everything right on his path to the draft and I always value players like that higher. Did I mention he's training with Keith Millard, the guy that was comparable to JJ Watt back in the day.

I wasn't expecting him to put up those numbers at his pro day, and he hustles like crazy. You put those two things together and a coach like Bowles he could be a beast. I still remember how impressive he looked in the first game of the season. Even if we take Spence or Ogbah at 20 I still love to take Holmes.

Fucking love Rankins and Hawkins is a good get for the third, just give him a year in a conditioning/strength program and he'll be a steal. I don't know enough about Burns too comment but I like how you finished it out.

I really like McGovern/Seymour/Kaser as day 3 value picks and I do think Doctson would work well on the other side of Mac. For the Vikes, I think Baby Gronk will be drafted by someone, and he's a good fit for the Vikes offense. I could see him in KC too though. But the D gets a nice boost with Billings/Joseph and even Benny Brown (who should probably be a rd 3-4 guy when the real draft gets going).

I don't know enough about Russell to comment, but my gut tells me he's a reach with who was left on the board. Kevon Seymor could be a great nickel corner. I was thinking about taking him a few picks after you did. You killed it with your first pick for the Vikings. I don't like Pharop Cooper at all. Especially in the 2nd round, but then you killed is again with Joseph in the 3rd. Him and Harrison would make a deadly combo at S. Both are interchangeable. Other than that Glasgow is a decent pick, and Marshall is pretty good in the 7th round. However, like RobR said. Gronkowski is probably a UDFA or a 7th round pick if you realllllly need a FB.

He's another guy that looks like a fit in a Bowles defense and you might have struck gold with that pick.

I don't know enough about Burns too comment but I like how you finished it out. Burns is definitely a boom or bust guy. I wish he would have stayed at Miami for another year, but he left school because his mother died, his father is in jail, and he assumed custody of his two younger brothers. He's a hard worker and has a good head on his shoulders. I was considering Fuller, but I think Burns fits the Raiders scheme better. If I was running a zone defense I'd probably pick Fuller. Burns is pretty raw, but he's an elite athlete. Like Cro he's great at pressing, but doesn't do it enough. His rookie season is going to be UP and DOWN for sure, but I think he's going to put it all together. I think late 2nd round is where he should go. Actually right about where the Jets pick.

That's fair Re:Cooper...I just think with Teddy running for his life and Wallace and his Stone Hands gone...he could use someone who can get to top speed fast and make some plays. Enter Cooper. Given what the board looked like at 54, I took a shot. I agree it was a bit reachy, but it's a hunch that it's a good fit. On Baby Gronk, I think he'll get drafted, probably in the late 5th-6th. FB is a staple of the Norv Turner offense and he could use a good one. I think he fits there.
