Thanks, Cappy. Thats a wrap. 16 days, 253 picks and we are done. Thanks to everyone for remaining engaged throughout. Next year, maybe we will start a couple of weeks earlier before the weather starts to hit 70s and the distractions mount. Thanks to jcappy and RobR for helping with the robopicks and keeping things moving and updated. Thanks also to The Tax Returns Are in Kenya for helping me keep the summary updated. Made it a lot easier to run this thing with you guys pitching in to help. Next step -- after the real draft, I will map in where the guys were selected relative to where we picked them and see who did the best, the worst and the most accurate (closest to where the players really went).

Is there anyway to find the old JI drafts? This is year 3 so we can actually judge peoples picks. I'd love to see who really had the best draft.

I will see if I can find it tomorrow.

Truth is it will be hard too evaluate the drafts because everyone is picking in different slots. I always take the Steelers and am normally picking in the bottom half of every round.

I know I picked Jalen Saunders so I have that going for me. I know for the last two years I've selected defensive rookie of the year. Aaron Donald and Marcus Peters. Truth is it will be hard too evaluate the drafts because everyone is picking in different slots. I always take the Steelers and am normally picking in the bottom half of every round. Also this is very true. There were a lot of good players I wanted that went right before I picked, but that's the nature of the beast. Basically any poster who gets a top pick and takes a great QB "wins" the draft. However, we follow the draft so we can recognize teams that did well with crap picks.

Maybe a better way is too compare them to what the team actually picked. I don't know, lots of variables in play when evaluating a draft. For instance a person drafting not only for need but what a team needs bypasses a better player. That player goes to a completely different team and excels.....how do you grade that?

It's super hard to grade. I'm not really thinking about grades tho. It's just for shits and giggles. Like in our first draft I drafted 4 players who went undrafted. Marcus Roberson, CB LA, Dion Bailey, S, Jets, Isiah Crowell, RB, Browns, and Sentrel Henderson, RT, BillS. All four of them are on teams and are making an impact. Last year I took players I didn't really like in the later rounds, but I knew they would get over drafted in real life. At the end of the day I know who you, lithfan, paradis, and I liked. i.e may top two corners last year were Peters and Darby. I picked players over Darby because of needs.

I tend too agree with that line of thinking. Most of us know what players the others like and dislike and how most of those players panned out giving each poster a certain reputation regarding evaluations. I'm wondering if we can bring back the Lee vs. Cook thread that was epic. Those WR discussions back then during the best WR draft class were great with all of the differing opinions.

Lee vs Cook was great. I wanted to love Lee, but as the season went on I realized he was too soft and a body catcher. Also like you I hate small WRs but Cook was different. Plus we both hated Sean Mannion. Sterling Shepard is my new small WR man crush. He's what we thought Kerley was going to develop into. I don't think he'll ever be a top 10 WR, but he's going to catch a lot of balls. He's like Emmanuel Sanders meets Jarvis Landry. I doubt he'll be the best WR in the draft, but I think his floor is the highest. He's a gamer and will do well. If we didn't use Decker in the slot I'd bang the table for him.

I have the utmost respect for anyone that watches the tape and comes to their own conclusion. I almost never read draft reports, let alone give any credence to the posters that cite them over and over. I probably watch at least 2 games worth of tape on about 50 players and only comment on those players. I'll put Shepard on my list because I loved Landry and never wavered based on his horrific combine and equally bad pro-day. I'd kill to have Landry over Amaro every day of the week. Now that we have about a week left and our draft is over, I'll be delving more deeply into the obscure prospects.

If I remember correctly he had a bad calf and it wasn't a bullshit excuse. Anyone who watched his game tape could tell he was injured during the combine. I never thought he had great speed, but he was quick/physical, and could get open in the slot. In a few years he might be the better pick than Beckham. Beckham is weak physically and mentally.
