Based on his ACL last year and the below I can't see much guaranteed $$ in any reworked deal
Once viewed as the best young player at his position, Clady was a two-time first-team All Pro by the time he was 26 years old. But he has struggled with injuries, from a torn patella tendon in 2010 to the Lisfranc fracture in 2013.

Rappaport saying the deal is probably similar to what Jax gave Beachum.
Basically a 1 year deal with optional years tacked on.

Albert Breer (@albertbreer) 4/9/16, 7:18 PM Jets' offer to Beachum was same structure as what he got in Jax: 1-year, with multi-year option. Fair to assume Clady's NYJ deal is similar.

Albert Breer (@albertbreer) 4/9/16, 7:06 PM Jets and Broncos have been working on the Ryan Clady deal for over a week, in anticipation of D'Brickashaw Ferguson's retirement. But but I read that the Jets FO wait for stuff to happen and then they react.

Completely misread this trade, thought we gave up a 7th and a 5th - even better with the 7th back. Marshall deal 2.0 ![](http://gifrific.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Thats-Gold-Jerry-Gold-Kenny-Bania-Seinfeld-Quote.gif)

Do you think signing Beatty for $5m would have been better value than Clady? Consider that we save the 5th, sign Beatty to a cheaper deal although you may be getting a slightly better LT in Clady?

Knowing Mcc he still might sign Beatty.

Via PFT
Per a source with knowledge of the contract, Clady will make $6 million in 2016. Of that amount, $3 million is guaranteed. Another $1.5 million is available in incentives based on playing time and postseason honors.
The Jets hold an option for 2017 at $10 million. The amount of the 2017 salary can increase to $13 million based on 2016 playing time. There’s also a bonus of $2.5 million due in February 2017, forcing the Jets to make a quick decision on whether they’ll keep Clady for the second year.

So they went from a 14 million cap charge to a 6 million cap charge. If I'm doing my math right that means they're about 8.5 under the cap....now.....remind me....who were they offering that kind of money to? ![???](http://i.imgur.com/UaOAD4w.gif) ? Hmmmm.....

About $4 million under right now. Brick had a $5 million dead money hit. So they only saved $9 million by him retiring.

Cimini hates the deal. Just read his latest article. Feels jilted because he had no idea what the Jets were doing to replace Brick.
