K - Roberto Aguayo in the 6th? P - Riley Dixon in the 6th or 7th?

If Aguayo is there in the 6th I would absolutely take him, but I don't see him lasting that long. I'd also be up for a punter in the 6th/7th round. I can't take another season of Quigley shaking punts.

I'd be happy to take Tom Hackett in the 7th

Aguayo will never make it to the 6th. I see him going in the 2nd-3rd because he's the best kicker too come out since Janakowski.

Would def like to see us draft a punter yes...punting has been an issue for years would be nice to find some stability there
K would be nice but not a complete necessity with Folk still under contract

The main issue I would have with taking Aguayo early is that he never had to make a whole lot of clutch kicks with the game on the line in college. I could only find one game winner that he ever made, a chip shot against BC in 2014. Most games his team was winning by 20+ points. The guy has been a great kicker in college, but its a lot different to be kicking down 2 with 3 seconds left and needing to nail a 45 yarder to win. If I am going to take a kicker that early, I want to know he has faced that type of pressure and can handle it. Its not just about making 90% of your kicks, its making 90% under pressure.

It's not his fault he played on a powerhouse of a team and never had those opportunities. I think with the new NFL rules emphasizing the kicking game and long PAT's you have to go with his body of work and IIRC he has never missed a FG under 40 yards. Personally I wouldn't take him that high because he's not known for a huge leg and I like Folk. Easily the best kicker we have had for decades.

Folk is still a decent alternative and even fat kicker was not the worst thing in the world. A punter on the other had, 100% for sure. It amazed me that the jets have put up with such garbage at punter for years.

I'd pass on a punter or kicker this year.
Folk is a keeper in my book. Not the greatest, but consistent and has proved his ability to hit game winners.
Unfortunately, this team has too many holes and limited draft picks to take a punter.
Plus, I'm convinced the FO is not afraid to take a step back this year. I think they are gearing up for a playoff run in 2017. They have tons of cap room next year and I think they're focused on building this year. That's why they're not budging off of their number for Fitz. I can totally see them picking up Lynch at 1-20 this year and rolling next season with Geno, Lynch and Petty. They'll focus the draft picks this year on getting younger at the o-line and LB.
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they did something like Lynch in round 1, Jaylon Smith in round 2 and best available O-lineman in round 3.
