April 11, 2010
In a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Jets acquired WR Santonio Holmes. Tone caught 79 passes for over 1,200 yards for the Steelers in the 2009 season. Although he would never approach those totals during 4 seasons as a Jet, his time with the team started well enough. Who will ever forget this catch that he made in the playoff win against New England.
It would prove to be a turbulent 4 years with the Jets. Being benched in the last game of the 11 season in Miami, declining play, injuries and bad QB play limited him to just 43 receptions and 2 TDs over his last two seasons as a Jet.
As for the Steelers, the trade worked out pretty well. they received the 155th pick in the draft. A pick they would trade to the Cardinals for Bryant McFadden and the 195th pick in the 2010 draft, a 6th rounder. McFadden, a DB, did not do much in his return to the Steelers. With pick 155, the Cardinals selected QB John Skelton.
With the 195th pick, the Steelers selected Antonio Brown. The Steelers did okay.

Also on 4/11, but in 2013, the Jets signed free agent punter, Ryan Quigley.

now there was a guy with some seriously good talent who just never kept his head in the game. maybe things would've been better if they didn't didn't bring in plaxico at the same time.

This one was more of a kick in the nuts for Cardinal fans. They are the ones that moved up for Skelton and saw the Steelers use their pick for Brown. Seems fitting that Arizona would acquire the Jets pick & use it on a lousy QB.
