Kiper: "I think he's a quarterback who could be a competent starter within the first couple years of his career. He's ready, mentally, for the NFL. He played in that pro offense [at Michigan State]. Kirk Cousins was there for a couple years, and he's watched and learned what he's done. [Cousins and Cook overlapped at Michigan State for one season, in 2011.] Cook has more ability than Cousins. He doesn't have the intangibles that Cousins has. Remember, Cousins was a three-year captain. Connor Cook wasn't the captain this year as a veteran senior. So the intangibles are more with Cousins, and the skill set is more with Cook. I think Cook will go earlier than Cousins , obviously. We're talking about the first or second round.
"What kind of quarterback he becomes will be whether he's able to galvanize a team. Will he be the first one in and the last one out? He's got the size. He's got the tremendously quick release. He's got the accuracy. People question the accuracy, some low balls. But a lot of those throws were down the field. Jon Gruden pointed out — no bubble screens with Michigan State. You look at Connor Cook, and he can move around well enough. He's got the size, at 6-4, to see the field. He's a pretty good athlete. I like that he carries out his ball fakes well. He's been under center, in the shotgun. He's ready for the NFL. The key with Connor Cook is going to be: Are the intangibles better than people think? Is he a guy that can be a leader? Is he a guy that can galvanize? If he can do that, the sky is the limit. If he can't, then he'll be a disappointment in the NFL."

To be honest I think the whole leadership thing for QB's is somewhat over blown. You don't have to have A team that will fall on a grenade for you, just one that will do their jobs for you. If you execute the plays well players will be on your aside, if you don't they won't.
