Jets mock draft (Final)
Trade - Jets trade Mo Wilkerson for Tennessee’s 2nd and 3rd round picks (the originals, not the LA ones)
1st Round - Noah Spence (OLB) (Eastern Kentucky) - I don’t think Paxton Lynch will last to 20 and, ultimately, I don’t think the Jets are going to pay the price involved to move up.
I’m willing to roll the dice on Spence at 20. I know about the character concerns and the 40 time, but he was arguably the best player at the Senior Bowl, he has very good tape and he fits arguably the biggest hole on the team right now (aside from QB).

2nd Round
1st Pick - Jason Spriggs (OT) (Indiana) - LT of the future, needs to add some strength, but that should come with age and NFL training. Had perhaps the best combine of any of the tackles.

2nd Pick - Su’A Cravens (LB/S) (USC) - big time prep prospect who is a very instinctive player. Fits the mold of the modern NFL. Will eventually need to add a little bit of weight, but I can see him as an eventual starter at ILB.

3rd Round
1st Pick - Xavien Howard (CB) (Baylor) - with Dee Milliner showing no reliability because of his health, the Jets need another big CB to develop for the outside. Howard is a nice combo of size and athletic ability who needs to refine some of his technical skills.

2nd Pick - Cardale Jones (QB) (OSU) - If you are going to select a QB to develop, you may as well choose someone who has elite traits for the position. Jones is probably at least 2 years away, but the kid is huge, athletic and may have the best arm in the draft. He is rumored to have been well liked by his teammates and scored a 25 on the wonderlic. Jones reminds me a little bit of Daunte Culpepper. Another thing to consider is that Jones had a nice rapport with Devin Smith when both were at OSU.

4th Round
Tyler Ervin (RB)(San Jose State) - small explosive RB. While the Jets backfield is now deep, they are in need of speed on offense and Ervin is a home run hitter. Offers special teams value as a returner as well.

7th Round
Tom Hackett (P)(Utah) - uhmmm yea, we need a punter. Hackett is a 2 time Ray Guy winner.
Jarron Jones (DE)((Notre Dame) - depth pick at 34 DE.
