Get me some OL help next - Haeg, Beavers, McGovern. Then a TE and a WR with return ability in the 7th. Mac is a value guy. So, if a guy with a high grade falls to the jets, they will take him regardless of position. I hope it's an OL, but I believe it might just end up being a LB.

Lots of good players left. I'd love it if the Jets were able to land Billings. Something has to be up with him. I wasn't sure he would be on the board when we made our pick Thursday night, and now he is still available on Saaturday. i really like the player, but we need to do something with the OL today. Hawkins or Beavers today would be really nice, or even a guard like Westerman or Alexander. I forgot Hawkins was still there. I'd go for Beavers (hard to change habit of a lifetime) but Hawkins, Haeg or McGovern (who I think is under-rated) would be nice too.

You know what my problem is? I never saw this coming. I should have, but I didn't. Because Macc tricked me. He baited me with the whole "cleaning house" of the old guard in the scouting department. Bastard knew what he was doing. What was I thinking , of course the jets would be the team to bite on Hack! Lynch wasn't even in the game. Classic soj. Shame on me, and shame on you Macc. This coming from the guy who was ready to enshrine Brandon fucking Pettigrew in Canton before he was drafted.

Waking up this morning and I'm really starting to love our new LBs. wasn't thrilled with the Lee pick but love Jenkins in the 3rd and he really is the perfect compliment to Lee.
Having a guy like Jenkins out there frees up Lee to do what he does best....run around and go after the ball.

Will the Fitz people please give it up. Unless Fitz and Sexton are willing to eat Crow and take what the jets have offered, he ain't gonna sign. And I don't see that as being even remotely possible. Plus, in the long run, the jets gain nothing by playing Fitz. This whole veteran QB to teach a young QB how it's done is absolute bull. Great QBs are leaders not followers. If this was the formula every team would use it. You learn how to play QB in the NFL by playing. If your talented and smart enough to learn how to play well and lucky enough to play for a smart coach with talented teammates, you succeed. This is the difference between Terry Bradshaw and Archie Manning; and Brett Favre and Jeff George, not whether a young guy has a mentor. If you're implying we should throw Hack or even Petty out there this season I wholeheartedly disagree. I don't want to see either one of them for a single snap this season. I agree there's more then one way to skin a cat, however in this individual case the cats we have are better served being spectators for now. Don't wanna sign Fitz? Fine. Go sign that scrub Hoyer or run Geno's bum ass back out there. Petty and Hack? Don't want to see him just yet.

The other thing about bringing back Fitz is that you are slowing Devin Smiths growth. Fitz can't get him the ball.

Of course you should not start a rookie on a team with crappy offensive talent around him, but there is zero reason not to get the guy under center before the year is over? Carr did it in Oakland from day 1. So did Bridgewater. Russel wilson did it. None is a phenomenal physical talent. Either you got the mental and physical goods, or you don't. If your QB does not know your playbook before the season starts, he will never be a successful QB. As far as reading D's, film study only gets you so far. Their is no substitute for being under center in the heat of the moment looking the D front 7 in the eye.

There are some QBs that can flourish from day 1. I think Hackenburg would be better served by sitting, cleaning up his mechanics and getting comfortable. That's my opinion.

Seriously? I missed out on the mock this year, but heymangold got shit for taking Jenkins in the 3rd? For shame... It was some of his other picks that he got shit for, not Jenkins. i think it was for my Cardale Jones pick - and not picking Paxton Lynch in the 1st. i'll still stand by not picking Lynch. but i love Jenkins
