If you had not read your press yet this morning ![morecoffee_zps1i3kqyvr](http://i.imgur.com/LY6E1Y3.gif) , apparently Casserly on behalf of Woody has reached out to the "legendary" Ron Wolf to act as consultant to the Jets. Nothing is agreed upon at this point but if it does happen it may be as soon as this weekend. ![drama_zpsmpdakl5s](http://i.imgur.com/M5NKQP9.gif)

I want him to hire his son as our new GM stay one year while the kid gets his legs under him and then fade into retirement. His son is young, energetic and a football junky from birth. Learned the football business from one of the best in the business.

No guarantees on what will happen yet or that it will work out, but at least it is noce to see Woody reaching out to lifelong football people to help move the franchise forward. Nice change of pace from the corporate recruiters from the last time.

Sounds like Woody is really trying to rehab his image. Casserly probably told him the league views him as a dunce.
If we could land Eliot Wolf then I think that would be huge.

Football people. Good football people. This is encouraging news. Good football people tend to hire other good football people.

Linky - espn.go.com/blog/new-york-jets/post/_/id/47727/highly-regarded-former-gm-ron-wolf-could-join-jets-as-consultant?src=mobileFLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets owner Woody Johnson apparently is trying to assemble a dream team of consultants. In addition to Charley Casserly, who will advise Johnson for the anticipated head coach and general manager searches, Johnson is looking to add another consultant of Casserly's ilk. The names of Bill Parcells, Bill Polian and Ernie Accorsi have been mentioned in media circles, but I don't believe those are possibilities for various reasons. As noted earlier, one name to watch is former Green Bay Packers general manager Ron Wolf, a legendary figure in scouting circles. Like Casserly, Wolf is a member of the NFL's career development advisory panel, which is comprised of eight former coaches and general managers. The panel was created a year ago to help identify coaching and general manager candidates for teams. I don't think Wolf is a done deal yet for the Jets, but they seem interested. It wouldn't be a surprise if something is finalized over the weekend. A Wolf-Casserly tandem would be a great start for the Jets.

Let's hope this happens. I have come to the point with the Jets of I will believe it when I see it. Hopefully a full and thorough enema takes place of the Jets FO.

Woody needs to move fast on all fronts, no more taking his sweet time to hire a GM and coach we cant afford to be behind the eight ball again. If the reports are true about Casserly and Wolf being hired as consultants its a step in the right direction.

That would be amazing. If memory serves me correctly, didnt Ron Wolf work for the Jets under Dick Steinberg? He was probably the during force behind targeting Favre in the 91 draft. The following year, he goes to GB, gets the HC that turned us down in 1990, then traded for Favre.
