Brit Floyd is pretty good, even better when they play Red Rocks.

io the problem with all of these tribute bands is that they try so hard to mimic they way the original groups sang the song they ruin any individuality they may have. there a new concert going on at coachella and the stones plus the who and roger waters are going to headline roger waters without david gilmour does not equal pink flloyd). my view is that if i want to see fossils i'll go to a museum. i missed the chances while younger and have no interest in seeing them today. don't get me wrong, the tribute bands can and do sound great but so would their interprettions of the songs.

Pretty cool. Just realized how long its been since I heard the original. FYI, saw Gilmour at MSG recently, awesome as usual. He does a nice blend of Floyd with his own stuff (which stands up well to the Floyd stuff imho).

Someone dragged me to an 80s tribute show. I had low expectations but ended up loving it. Its not so much the technicality of the music...but its the feeling it gives you. Sure its nostalgia, but so what. If you can relax and hear music you love who cares.

Joe Russo's Almost Dead is really good at taking the Grateful Dead catalog and making it there own. A this point, I'd rather see JRAD then Dead and Co.

Nice. I was always a fan of Voivod's versions of The Nile Song and Astronomy Domine.

I'm with you...I enjoy it when one of my favorite bands tries out a cover as long as they inject some sort of their personality into the tune, but I have no use for tribute bands. Instead of spending money on tickets to see even the best tribute band, it's still a facsimile of the original so I'd rather save the money, slug WAY cheaper beers and spin the CD at home.
