I voted HC Atlanta, mostly because it makes some sense and the rumors have been around the longest. Frankly, if there were a DC option somewhere, I probably would have chose that.

I don't think he's HC material and I'd be surprised to see a team take a chance on him seeing the 6 years of circusry, ridiculously bold predictions. I don't think GM's and owners take kindly to such brashness. John Fox landed the Denver job after going 2-14 but this is a sustained rate of failure the past 4 years. I think too many of you are glossing over his negatives.
You can call me a homer but I think a DC job is beneath Rex. I think there are a lot of people around (and not just Jet fans) who feel Rex did a hell of a job with last years 8-8 team. The wheels just fell off this season and we lost a lot of close games. Herm landed in Kansas City and Eric Mangini landed in Cleveland right after they were fired from the Jets and I think Rex will find a HC job as well.

He'll be on TV Multiple reports have surfaced stating that Rex would rather take some time off from coaching. And after a year or two of smiling into the camera, some team will throw another HC opportunity his way. I don't think Rex wants to be a DC again. TV is certainly is the most popular choice by far and I understand why.
Rex is a lot like Herm in that they have strong opinions on pretty much anything and have great TV personalities. If he does do TV, he won't ride the fence on most (if not all) issues.
As much I think he would excel in TV, I think he has at least one more ride left in him as a HC.
I think Atlanta has the best roster to win now but he could give Chicago a look because of the success his father had with the Bears.

We'll disagree as to his perception. Coupled with the annual Super Bowl predictions to the kissing of Bill's rings to crying in the locker room to hiring 2 new OC's to flipping off fans to getting a tattoo of his QB to foot fetishes to getting fined for cursing at players to Tebowmania to wildcat to failed ground & pound to butt fumble to naming team captains to near mutiny in the locker room he will be remembered harshly for failing to create a balanced TEAM and always, always mention the defense in any conversation while ignoring the offense. Did I miss anything? Probably. A lot. While you (as I mention) gloss over the negatives, they do have an accumulated effect on the perception others hold of him. While you believe DC is beneath him, I would say many others (myself included) believe this is his true ceiling. The Ravens passed him over for good reasons. He's NOT a HC. But we'll see how this plays out soon enough.

But if Parcells could do it so can Rex. Once Rex is no longer hamstrung by the need to be politically correct and say the right things, not throwing certain people (cough cough) under the bus, no matter how much he would love to, he will sound very different. Sort of like he sounds in the "coach speak" section of the Jets Flight Plan.

Except that he didn't win at his next coaching gig. Jets - Pats** - SC - Seattle. Third time was the charm. So you agree Rex will win a Superbowl? Maybe as a DC. He is not winning a SB as a HC on a team where he has to draft, develop and maintain a QB.
