Trump can't explain this away by a smirk. Trump, and all my conservative friends hear the echo "the fish stinks from the head down". They had months weeks days to prepare for this moment. I find it telling.

I find it telling. More telling than someone that has been preparing to become President for about 30 years and whose fuck-ups have actually resulted in the deaths of others? The "not ready for prime time" argument the media is trying to cling to today backfires once you turn the scope towards the mistakes made by the other side. Just like trying to call the candidate a misogynist whilst married to a rapist.

Just watched news at 10, WTF is with Trumps wife echoing Michelle Obama's speech almost word for word? So Trump is anti foreigner with a Slovenian wife who will be First Lady? Or is he just against muslim and Hispanic immigration? Much ado about nothing. The words are so generic and mundane. "your word is your bond" "work hard" "have respect" Obama was accused of plagiarism by the Clinton campaign in 2008 and laughed it off. Our current VP is probably the most guilty candidate of plagiarism in history. And today Ive seen Michelle being accused of taking those lines from someone else. It was likely a stupid oversight that the media has pounced on because they hate Trump. Its a shame Melania has to go through this embarrassment because she is the epitome of the types of immigrants that helped build this country and the type we want in this country. Hopefully this makes Donald and his staff tighten things up because this is child's play compared to the attacks he is going to receive in the fall. Melania Trump, the first Slovenian immigrant so fluent in 90's hip hop slang she used it in her RNC speech LOL www.thewordisbond.com/food-4-thought-word-is-bond/My favorite part though was the Rickroll at the end. Some speechwriter was really mean to do that. Maybe a Clinton operative masqueraded as her speechwriter? As Republican David Frum said, "a cavalcade of derp"

Being objective is really hard when politics and social issues are involved. I feel like we've been conditioned to be absolutely for or against everything. And every controversy that harms the opposing viewpoints is a world changing event or a window into the dark soul of our opponents, while the controversy that harms our own viewpoint is someone making a mountain out of a mole hill.
I think if we all tried really hard to be objective and take the time to form our own opinions, we would all begin to realize that the politicians and media have a very real tendency to distract us from the real issues. I do not know if this is by design or a convenient accident fueled by our own penchant for being drawn into the silliest of "controversies", but I do know that it has to stop if we have any hope of solving the problems that face this country.

The smearing of Chick-Fil-A is an absolute disgrace.
The day after the radical Islamic terrorist attack against gays in Orlando a local Chick-Fil-A opened on a Sunday, which it is normally closed for, to make food and give it for free to not only law enforcement but also the people waiting in line to donate blood.
Official statement from Chick-Fil-A
Yep. Sounds like an organization that teaches hate.

Official statement from Chick-Fil-A Yep. Sounds like an organization that teaches hate. Right. You are pointing at DeBlasio. Turning the focus to business; using your business to promote your personal views is asinine. Look what it brought. What about the CHik fill a employees? Pawns? If you make a PERSONAL statement that spurs people to action against your firm, you should make your employees whole. That's the moral play; not "re-branding". As far as Mayor D; If Trump can walk away from his actions, then, DeBlasio is welcome to respond. DeBlasio could quote Trump an shrug it off. If Chik Fil A wants to take sides...

I dont think they used their employees are pawns. The local operators felt an obligation for them to help their community and responded. I would be willing to bet the majority of their employees love having Sundays off.
Christianity, at least the type I was raised under, Catholicism, preaches forgiveness and helping those in need. Even if you believe a person has committed a sin it is incumbent on you to forgive. Unfortunately, some have chose not to bake cakes, play music or take photographs for those they believe to be sinners. That may be a bad business decision but its a far cry from what happens to "sinners" in other parts of the world or under other belief systems and ideologies.
