it's good they got this done. it just removes a huge distraction going into camp. given the secrecy i wouldn't be surprised if something similar happens with fitz. the jets will make everyone wait until they're ready to say hello or goodbye to fitz. but going forward what does this mean for richardson? i can't see them using 34 million per season on just two linemen. What it means is that they have Richardson by the cajones for at least 2 more years after exercising next year's 5th year option for about $8M. With Leo Williams still on a relatively cheap rookie deal we're really only paying one guy, Mo, truly big $. Richardson could also be teased with the Franchise Tag in 2018...or even traded next Summer. The Jets have good options. They now have the luxury of watching Williams develop and possibly discovering that he's the best of the 3 guys after another year or two. I'm super psyched about this move with Mo. He earned it and is the right guy to commit to.

How do I feel about the Mo deal, especially after the way we fucked him around for years? Better than when we canned Teblow:
Life is fucking good.

My faith in the Jets has gotten a lot better hearing this. Not a typical SOJ move.

I love how not a peep of this was in the papers. Macc has the Jets complex in lockdown, Defcon 1. It's now official, anything published "according to sources" is total BS.

What would be a typical SOJ move? I believe that would be letting the best defensive player on your team walk away for nothing and instead signing a never was, mediocre QB for lots of $$ only to realize he won't take you anywhere and you have to draft another QB again to start over with.
