oh boy yeah. Or it could be the media has never ever ever ever ever covered her sport? Try harder. Bullshit. A female athlete with that kind of longevity of success dating back to the Atlanta Olympics? She barely got any attention while the media fawned over the fencer who basically got carried by her team. When has the media ever covered fencing? You aren't this dumb, unless you are letting anti-Muslim sentiment cloud your brain. The fencer was news because of her uniqueness. Media loves "first", its human interest. Add in the fact that the anti-Muslim rhetoric is at a fever pitch and you have a perfect storm for a story. That woman won medals in an obscure sport, never traditonally covered....thats boring...she needs a "hook"... that's the media game...now if she was an albino, her parents were murdered or she was transgendered...well then...But you know this.

Why does she even need to wear the hijab? The fencing mask covers up more than the veil does anyway I had to look it up because I didn't know who we were talking about. I had to laugh - her parents' names are Denise and Eugene

So youre agreeing with me. Its politics. Nobody is anti-Muslim. We just dont think being gay should be illegal or a death sentence and women should be able to drive and not be put in jail for getting raped. And allowed to go to school without getting shot. And be allowed to take pictures of themselves without being sentenced to death for dishonoring their family. Actually I take back the women being allowed to drive. They got that one right.

They are all connected under the umbrella of media hypocrisy and double standards. oh ok I thought this thread was about Milwaukee. If only they were good examples Plenty of equestrians riding and medaling in their 4,5, 6th Olympics, nobody gives a shit about them either I guess "the media" interviewed every athlete beforehand to find out their political leanings If the riders were as Arabian as the horses and wore scarfs on their heads maybe they would get some coverage. Islam is the new black. They dont need to interview them. They just find the ones who align with their agendas. A lot of these athletes are outspoken. Rhodes was outspoken about something they dont agree with.

Muslims are 1% of the US population. Very little people identify. Its pure media agenda. Religion IS politics? Have you been in a coma the past 20 years? You need to brush up on your talking points. We are the most secular we have ever been.

There is a reason why they call it "main stream media".

Trump talks Muslims 24/7..hardly the media agenda...his. I didn't put a time line on religion being politics, just said it was sad.

Trump talks about radical Islamic terrorism. The liberal media tries to expand that into being about all muslims. Which is ironic because thats racist (since Islam is now a race apparently) Whats sad? Religion has been defeated and will never be overturned. You can kill your babies up to the due date and gays can marry. What else is left? The Christian bakers and photographers?

Its entertainment Trump wants ALL Muslims to not enter the US. All. Just the fact that you mix religion into political issues is telling. Religion isnt suppossed to be something thats "defeated". Abortion, equal rights, are about laws, not religion. Religion can go right on, go to church, pray....we all love the Constitution right? Separation of church and state?

He wants to temporarily suspend immigration from parts of the world like Syria and implement better vetting systems that include finding out their views on woman and gays as well as well as if they are possible terrorism sympathizers. Sad thing is, based on the Pew Research, most of them will fail that test so it will essentially be a ban on young muslim male immigration. How can we screen for such things? Most of them give up this information willingly on their social media accounts. Its much simpler than people think. The basis for all our laws comes from religion. Ten Commandments ring a bell? They will forever be intertwined. Separation of church and state is to prevent theocracys like they have in muslim nations where religion rules every aspect of life.
