Thats because they want to eliminate same-day registration which is what happens with early votes. Can ship people in from out of town have them register, vote and then go back to where they came from.

No Sunday voting: Sunday early voting hours have been popular among African-Americans, some of whom organize “souls to the polls” events where church members vote together after Sunday services. College campus sites unnecessary: Republican elections board members have frequently opposed opening early voting sites on college campuses, but others argue that the sites are needed because some students don’t have cars – making it difficult for them to access off-campus polling places. College students tend to be more liberal than the general population.

I can't sympathize for those who get screwed when they are against what I believe to be the silver bullet to this entire problem. As far as Im concerned they are just a couple more casualties of a shitty system that they help perpetuate. As for college campuses Im glad about that one. Dont need leftist professors pressuring students. They are brainwashed enough already.

You say suppression, someone else might say preserve integrity of the system. I get asked for my ID when I go to the doctor, sometimes when I use a credit card, check into a hotel. The only legitimate objection I can see to voter ID is the cost of a driver's license or non-driver ID and how some people can't afford that (ironic racism that we assume all blacks are poor). And I have proposed a solution to that. Very simple.

Than the GOP should push for free ID card for all. I don't see that happening, do you? (wasteful govt bureaucracy!) And it doesnt address the elimination of voting hours done purely partisan reasons...as the said in their memo...“Republican Board members should feel empowered to make legal changes to early voting plans, that are supported by Republicans,” he wrote. “Republicans can and should make party line changes to early voting.” ID or no ID, trying to keep people form the pools is disgusting.

Is it more disgusting then dead people voting? Or some moron in Ohio's vote being worth more than mine. Here is something you should check out if you have the time. Those evil rich white guys arent the only ones who like low turnout. fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-democrats-suppress-the-vote/

And agreed, your vote should count at least 3x more than someone from Ohio.

You expect African Americans and the elderly to pre-register to vote?? Thats what many Democrats would say.

At the end of the day, we're the greatest country in the world (according to that commercial running during the olympics). We should be able to come up with a way to make voting accurate and accessible. That, to me, would require a rock-solid identification process, including ID, at a low- or no-cost model, more voting hours rather than less, and processes in place to ensure we're not counting double votes, dead people etc, even if that "only happens on a small percentage basis".
Ive always felt that voting is one of the great responsibilities and privileges of citizenship, and we should be doing everything we can to support one person, one vote, and raise voting participation, even if a chunk of our population are mouth breathing morons.

Claiming a rigged election is like a self fulfilling prophecy, no? You win, you claim you beat the cheats. You lose, you claim you were cheated.

Claiming a rigged election is like a self fulfilling prophecy, no? You win, you claim you beat the cheats. You lose, you claim you were cheated. Except short of people actually turning Bernie votes to Hillary votes we have proof the DNC rigged their primary. They did not guarantee Hillary's victory but they stacked the deck against Bernie.
