Not taking the time to make good picks isn't an excuse for making shitty picks. But it is what I've done the last 2 weeks. I rip through the picks before the thursday game, and never take the time to log back in. I've have to break that habit or i'm going to be in last place real quick. I play in a couple $200 Fantasy/dynasty leagues, and that's pretty much where my heads at on sunday morning. These are leagues with Practice squads, deep benches, IR etc. I was thinking of starting one for here, but i don't have the time to manage it... and honestly unless you're really into it, then it's a waste. Idk how many posters here would be into that kind of league. Maybe the 5 or 6 of us in the draft forum, but personally I'd love a league like that. Usually I hate playing fantasy, which is why I draft my friend's teams and they split the winnings with me. I feel like i've been called on to be "the oracle" more than a couple times. It's always awesome when you give them a name who blows an ACL in week 1, lol. My dynasty league has 4 man practice squad, and 20+ bench. In otherwords if the guy so much as farted a pointed last week, he's on someone's roster. Jhurell Pressley is on someone's team if you want some context, lol. It makes the rookie draft in the spring huge.

I also drafted Forte for him who has been on the bench since its a 1 RB league. The team I drafted for a friend in a 16 team league just won by 70 points so I'm game.

Personally, I have never been a fantasy guy. I have been in a couple of leagues over the years and never enjoyed it (even though I won the Hampur Mock Fantasy League a couple of years back) -- does that count as chest thumping or I told you so.
I have always felt that it gets in the way of being a fan. Obviously, I am a fan of the Jets and I don't like it when fantasy gets in the way of that and I find myself torn between what I want as a Jet fan and what I want in fantasy. Even got to the point where I would set my own lineup without looking at who was on the opposing team. Fantasy football is just not for me -- after I won the Hampur league a couple of years back, I decided to retire on top.

I totally know what you mean, and i've struggled with the exactly the same things... Unfortunately, the shit's like heroin. Zero hope for me. I have resorted to not owning any Jets on my team (no conflict of interest) and not looking at my enemies line up, like you mentioned. It's a tolerable compromise.

crap. I forgot to review my picks since i put them in half-assed on thurs... sigh. I just fell prey to that same dilemma. I thought I had Philly tonight, even had them in my other pool and I always make the same picks across the leagues. Talk about irony.

I thought it was an easy pick. Shows what I know. 8 out of 16 games this week. Embarrassing, I might as well just flip a coin.

I had that same state of mind when I picked CLE, and CHI as well... still going to pick against PHI this week as well. God dammit. I'm not quite at the "need to make longshots to make up lost ground" phase yet, but I have to start taking some chances. Definitely going NYJ and SD for "upsets"

Definitely going NYJ and SD for "upsets" Same here. I went upset city in the first week and did well, then I played the chalk and took a step back last week. I absolutely know Jax will be my nemesis this year....every time I take them, they'll lose and vice versa. This pool is going to be tough, I had 20 wins the first two weeks and now I'm tied for 24th. If I just had Philly last night, I'd be tied for 11th.

Looks like we all played with our hearts tonight instead of our heads. Was there ever any doubt of the outcome of this game, it was a complete trap.
What sucks even more is that most of the leaders didn't fall for it.

What sucks even more is that most of the leaders didn't fall for it. Absolutely. I would rather lose $25 than benefit by picking the Pats. At least thats my story for this week. I was looking at the picks, just knowing NE would find a way to win, but I didn't care. Was just thinking I really want them to lose and what an idiot I would feel like if I picked them to win with a 3rd string QB and they lost. And, lets face it, the Pats didn't win that game so much as the Texans lost. What an awful, pathetic no show for a playoff team with their new $20MM QB. Looking at the standings, I am definitely the one looking like the idiot now. I may have a bigger hole to dig myself out of than Rex and Rob. No way they beat Arizona, right???

No way they beat Arizona, right??? Not a chance, they are a sinking ship with a buffoon at the controls.

Brock is mentally soft and slow. I'm picking based on QB play the rest of the way. switching WSH to NYG. Time to get back to basics.
