I agree. Maybe someone falls in love with Kizer or Watson (neither of whom I am crazy about) and tries to jump into our spot. I am seeing mocks right now with like 4 QBs in the top 10. Kizer, Watson, Trubisky, Kaaya. I think I even saw one with Mason Rudolph in the top 10 this week. I just don't see it, but you never know. The only one I like is Trubisky, but with only one year of starting experience under his belt, I'm scared after the whole Sanchez fiasco.

I don't post anywhere else and on the rare occasion I'll check out JN. A week ago I see a poster that is all over the board and started a thread about being all in on JT Barrett. JT Barrett. Saw the JT Barrett thread over there. At least the guy who put Barrett out there seemed to get roasted pretty good. During baseball season I am over there for the Mets thread -- just couldn't get any Mets discussion going over here during this past season. And at least we don't have any trademarked posters who like to post in bold green font over here.I'll be posting in the Mets thread this year. _

Would be nice if we can keep something going this year.

Big 12 defenses have actually showed up to play in Oklahoma - OK State. Although they are being helped out by some drops and bad weather. NOt sure where Oklahoma's offense is going to come from -- they can't run the ball today and Dede Westbrook is likely out with concussion. Took a huge hit over the middle.

Took a huge hit over the middle. That's putting it mildly. He got knocked the fuck out.

Dammit. Baker Mayfield not entering the draft.
Was hoping he would so someone would take him leaving a better player for us.
Oh well.

Zeus's son would be a big boost to this OT class. Also Cam Robinson who I've been critical of seems to have done well this year after a disastrous sophomore year. I need to watch a lot more tape on him.

Look at the top 30 prospects in this draft, you can make the case that at least 20 of them are defensive players. The only offensive position worth drafting in the top 5 could be a RB this year, and I'm not sure Mac goes there this year. Everyone needs to start warming up to the fact that the Jets will in fact be drafting another defensive player in the first round.
The more I watch him the more I love Jamal Adams. With Leo anchoring the D line for the next decade, Jamal will anchor the secondary for the next decade. Obviously if Garrett is there you take him, but he will be gone by 5 or 6 so Adams is my pick there.

The player I want is the OT from Wisconsin so it's my hope that the Jets win a few more games

I really like Adams, but if we are taking the perspective that RB is not a high value position and, therefore, should not be used on a top 5 selection, shouldn't we also say the same thing about a safety? At least with a RB we would be spending a premium pick on offense (which we have not done since Sanchez). I can't get behind any safety at 5, that's just me. If push came to shove, I could live with a cornerback, but my preference is still edge rusher or offense.

Assuming we are picking somewhere 4 - 8, I think my ideal top 2 picks at this stage (a lot can change between now and April) would be to come away with Edge and RB in the first two rpunds. Which got me thinking, are we better off with a combo of say Derek Barnett/Tim Williams (assuming Garrett is gone) in the 1st and Freeman/Foreman/Chubb in the 2nd; or if we go RB and take Fournette/Cook in the 1st and Mckinley/Haynes in the 2nd. Just seems to me that the drop off in talent on the edge is much greater than the drop in RB that we would likely be better off going edge in the first. And I am one of the guys who has been screaming for offense for each of the past 3 or 4 years, just does not seem to be the way this draft is lining up.

I'd say we would be better off with Barnett in the first and Joe Mixon in round 2. I think the edge class is top heavy. However, I think Fournette is the best player in the group and likely to be BPA at 5. Additionally, the FA edge class is nice. We could sign an edge rusher in FA and let Mauldin and Jenkins fight it out for the other starting spot.
