Is Geno back as the number one QB on the Jets roster next year? Does he get another shot at it? I think this is a more interesting question than Ryan/Idzik coming or going, given the latter is now inevitable.
He can throw the ball. With the Redskins now jumping ahead of us, could they now take a QB if one falls? That would suck. RGIII looks miserable as I watched this game yesterday at a friend's house. I don't think TEN takes one, nor JAX or OAK. But teams like CHI or STL could move up.
If neither Mariota or Winston falls to us in the draft, there are very few options to upgrade QB next year. I think the focus will be improving the overall team. I think we're stuck with Geno, for better or worse.

There is a possibility that Winston falls a few spots due to his issues. So I think a QB will still be in play. The combine is also around the corner so things are very likely going to change.
As bad as he has been he will remain on the roster and he should bc he is young and cheap. I fully expect a training camp competition. Also, having a backup that has two years of starting experience is a good thing.

With clip board in hand, he'll be sitting on the bench where Mike Vick used to sit. Agree with previous post, having a backup with two years starting experience is a good thing. Cleaning house should include the quarterback as well. A change is gonna come...Sam Cooke.
He will definitely be on the roster IMO. Our new gm (if he isn't a complete idiot) should bring in a capable veteran and draft another young guy in the first three rounds depending on how the board falls. I doubt Mariota or Winston will be there as both Tampa and Tennessee need QBs.
Geno will be in the mix. If we don't get one of the top guys in the draft, I am not sure that the available free agents are that much better. At worst, he will probably be competing for the job.
I can't see the new coach/GM combo looking at his 2 years of film and saying "yeah, this guy can eventually bring us to the Super Bowl". On the roster, will be told he can compete for the starting job, but will lose it to the BPA in free agency/trade.
If we do somehow land one on of the top two QB's in the draft, they are going to have to bring in a seasoned vet to help bring the kid along. That shouldn't be Geno.

Probably our starting qb. Was said to be a project coming into the NFL who needed work/time to develop, people seem to forget this fact. I'm all for drafting another young QB, but dont believe there is one in this draft other than Mariota and Winston.
We need to start rebuilding the Oline and if possible trade/sign Bradford, Locker, or Foles to compete next year. When your young qb fails to show development, there's nothing worse than seeing Vick, Simms, Clemens, Brunell, etc. on your bench...
2016 is probably when we look for our next QB via the draft (Cook, Hackenberg, etc.)...
I like how everyone is focused on Geno's "great game" but seem to forget that ugly fumble. How do you play football your whole life and not learn how to carry it?!?!?!?
Goodell is a hypocrite
"I'm 80 years old and I want results now," the Jets dismissed Coach Pete Carroll today after one season and replaced him with Rich Kotite.
"I'm entitled to some enjoyment, and that means winning," said Hess today, virtually branding the team as quitters under Carroll for their late-season collapse. Their five straight defeats insured a losing record for the 18th time in 35 seasons and entrenched the Jets' reputation as a perennial losing franch
