I wouldn't mind making petty next years starter there isn't a franchise QB in this draft . Everyone is on Trubisky wagon but I don't trust 1 year starters
Also another idea would be to resign Geno or sign Glennon and let the 3 young guys battle for QB 1

At least the kid has a sense of humor. I like the kid. Either way the fucking O Line needs to be fixed after oh I dunno a decade and a half of neglect? At LEAST? Doesn't fuckin matter WHO is at QB... FIX THE FUCKING LINE FFS ALREADY!! Ugh. I seriously think I could run this shitstain franchise better. Hire me Woody, you bastard! And I work cheap. Get me some tax breaks and you got a deal, fucker.

I've seen enough growth from Petty so far to be encouraged. He didn't struggle at all operating out of a huddle. I liked hearing him read the D and calling out Alonzo as the Mike to set the O line blocking on several occasions -- I suspect he made the correct read of the Fins being in a 46 set. But after Petty began to burn the 8 in the box D, the Fins threw Zone blitzes at him and Petty failed to recognize rushers falling into short zone coverage -- this fools some of the better QB's, but he is going to see a lot of it until he starts to recognize it more often than not. Anyway, other areas of improvement would be knowing when to throw a busted screen pass into the ground, and improving his deep ball -- really any ball that has air under it. But his timing passes were very good and he threw plenty of ropes which got to his receivers so quickly that the D had little time to close and the receiver had a chance for some YAC, which was a refreshing change.
I say we go into 2017 with just Petty and Hack so we can figure out this QB thing. If they suck, so be it. We'll at least have a shot at a QB high in the 2018 draft. The last thing we need is some veteran jag eking taking practice snaps from them and, worse yet, coming in to eke out 6 wins and screwing us out of a top pick for a QB when (if) we learn Petty and/or Hack are not the future.

The only franchise position that matters is QB. Any other position may be important, may have game changing talent. Franchise changing is the QB. And only the QB. Learn the game of football. _ I dunno, seems Belicheat would disagree He can plug up any ol sodomite and be very happy with the end result. Of course he is a known and convicted cereal cheater but that is beside a mute point. Earlier in the year a reporter asked BB the secret to having his QB's play so well. his response was eye opening. He basically said QB play is not rocket science, you look at the D alignment, adjust the call if necessary, pick the best match-up and throw the ball. Maybe his secret is NOT putting the QB position on a pedestal?

Pretty amazing he's not injured. 2 X 300 pound DL's come in full speed untouched. Man, he was throttled on that play.

I think the fact that he was airborn and bounced back and forth saved him from a more forceful impact with the ground. If either Suh or Wake alone hit him and drove him into the ground, he'd have broken ribs or worse.

Over under on BB going Cobrakai on Bryce and ordering one of his goons to spear Petty early?
Glad to hear the kid isnt hurt and excited to see if he can continue to improve game to game as he has been.

Let's just hope the fuckin' tackles do their jobs the rest of the way and don't get whatever QB is back there killed!
