I can see him accepting a pay cut. Of course it depends on the number. He's got to know that the market for a talented but often injured and very inconsistent small WR is going to be limited. I can't imagine it is even close to 10 mil a year. In fact, I don't think it will be 5 mil a year. So the Jets may offer him something that he might accept or reject. The Jets might not offer him anything, thinking that a 4th round pick that arrives with a minimal cap hi is better than Percy at whatever his cap hit becomes. I would offer him something in the 3-4 mil a year range just based on his kick return ability and upside as a offensive weapon and see what happens.

Either way the new GM only has 6 picks to work with right? Thanks Idzik. No comp picks this time around, right?

Hope not. I don't care what he gets paid. He makes plays. And its not like we are paying a QB.

the question will be, do you want to spend 10 mil on a player that has yet to play a full season in his career.
I'm guessing no.

I'd only want him if he takes a lot less. He's a freak athlete when he's on the field. But he's injury prone and a head case.

Isn't Dez Bryant a free agent this coming season?

Our roster is relatively inexpensive. 10 million? For a part time player? Also adding to the fact that we most likely won't have anyone worth a damn playing qb, I think the team could find a better way to invest the money. Like maybe new corners? Outside linebackers?

We can do that and keep him. We aren't paying a QB. And we can get some OL help.

Given that it seems unlikely that the Jets could draft Cooper from pick #6, I wouldn't be surprised to see Harbin return to the Jets as they look to improve the offensive line. The Jets may take a wide receiver later in the draft, but I don't think they'll take one in the first round.

Isn't Dez Bryant a free agent this coming season? Why would you want such a me-first diva when you're a new GM assembling a team for future sustained winning? Demaryius Thomas is scheduled to be a FA and a lesser alternative, Crabtree. But I'd personally go after Denarius (what whacky-ass names!) Moore for quality depth and draft another WR at the top of the 2nd round. And keep Percy. This team needs playmakers especially if Geno returns as our QB. No need to shell out another 10+ million for another WR - Decker is 7.5 - can't afford that.
