Personal gain or gain for your big donors. Whats the difference? Every president in my lifetime has either gotten rich or more rich as a result of the office and the connections they make. And the donors benefit tremendously. Its baked into our system. Trump will profit like everyone else. Like Obama. Like Bush. Like the Clintons. ....... Hopefully the difference will be in his policies profiting most of us rather than just those he deems worthy like the past couple administrations. I (and many business writers) feel that his pro-business policies will help everyone, raise GDP, repatriate profits and thus bring in some taxes on money we would have never seen otherwise, increase jobs in America, help the stock market, etc. In other words, help everyone. I believe they will benefit America. I just am not naive enough to believe that he or any of his loyalists will not benefit. Someone will get a contract, a patent, a zoning ordinance. There will be tax breaks given to certain companies. Friends will be given ambassadorships and other various appointments. This has gone on in every administration. And if anyone doesn't think Obama has done favors that he plans on cashing in on when he gets out of office then I got a bridge to sell them. Where I draw the line is selling influence. And that is what I believe the Clintons did.

Some people want to think its so he can get his hotels built. I would argue that a man that has been building hotels for decades doesn't need to become president to build a hotel. I don't know. Maybe Im the idiot. Our current president has made deals with Iran and Cuba. Iran and Cuba. Trump took a phone call from a country we consider an ally and a valuable trading partner. Not to mention that this "policy" of not directly talking to Taiwan's leaders came about under the Jimmy Carter administration. Why on earth are we still following Jimmy Carter foreign policy is beyond me. Tell me about it. I just bought a new GE branded Christmas treemade in Taiwan and its much better than the Mainland Chinese ones that shed needles faster than a Llaso ApsoThey have needles?

Well, Mr. Trump is the first U.S. Head of state to call the leader of Taiwan in 37 years which I think is newsworthy.. Newsworthy? For sure. My issue is with the spin and hypocrisy. Our last administration sold them weapons, normalized relations with Cuba and Iran. Keep your enemies close? China is about to cloak Iran in ChinaNet. I like Obama's boldness..

That said, Trump is looking to setup folks like the Koch Brothers and the fossil fuel industry. How you are down with that is beyond me. peace.

Shockingly Trump is wrong about china Makes good headlines and a convenient villain to bash though! Cato Institute scholar Scott Lincicome argued in the Federalist every one of Trump’s beliefs about international trade and its impact on U.S. jobs is wrong. Though Trump blames Chinese manufacturing for a loss of U.S. factory jobs, Lincicome argues those jobs have been lost to robots and computers — and they won’t come back, no matter how high the tariffs — which Congress would have to approve. He also noted imposing tariffs would be a violation of WTO rules, giving China a case against the U.S., and hurt U.S. exports to China, the country’s third-largest market. As far as the yuan goes, Lincicome noted the Chinese actually are trying to keep their currency from falling, not rising, as Trump has charged. It's all about his Taipei hotels. AND LOL!!!! About Dilbert as a source. GTFO!!!! ry down a notch, despite China being a major trading partner for the U.S. While Trump has repeatedly lashed out at China, China has mostly responded as if dealing with a small child. In the wake of Trump’s phone chat with Taiwan, China’s foreign minister said Trump had fallen victim to Taiwan’s “shenanigans.”

I'm hopeful that efficacy will lead to improved everything. You are directly implying (is that possible?) that DJT will re-work the numbers like he would walk up and rework fresh, un-grabbed beauty.

This is how you gain respect of the world! Authoritarians rule! You do recognize that in the case of China that Trump is likely right in his approach? Their whole government is predicated on "everything having a price." This is all much ado about nothing, China is simply waving their penis around like a petulant child.
