Agree to disagree bud. I don't think he's a terrible coach. There's better candidates out there... Who? Me personally, I would hire Hue Jackson, Todd Bowles(yes, a DC), and even Adam Gase before I would hire Marrone. Only thing I will admit that Marrone has over those guys is the fact that he knows our division very well. Which is huge, that I also will admit.

On a side note, I could see SF taking a serious look...

The ownership is up in the air and there is talk of moving the team. His value is decent right now (in his favor) because he put a good product on the field and just beat NE. This is the best time for him to make a move. Agreed. Better opportunities out there for him and his stock won't be higher any time soon. By any chance Woody didn't mention he'd love to have Doug as a coach in any of his recent press conferences did he?

There 1st winning season in a decade and by the sounds of it their ownership is not happy he's gone, NFL site says this is a blow to the Bills. This is a coup if the Jets Get this done IMO. What kind of coup? Has Woody been....you know.....t......t...... tampering?

Definitely a good thing for the other teams in the AFC East whether he comes to the Jets or not. At least it weakens the Bills.

I think you have a local guy who got the Bills a winning season for the 1st time in a decade.
Won with Kyle fuckin Orton. Is from the side of the ball we want. Maintained a good Defense on his watch. wiped the floor with AFC opponents and totally out coached Rex. I like this hire for the Jets Carlito, makes a lot of sense.

As others have said, he's a highly regarded offensive guy who tore Rex's vaunted defense to shreds mutiple times over the last two years with EJ Manuel and Kyle Orton at QB.
Marrone is just the type of guy to get the most out of a journeyman or even a kid like Geno. And let's face it, that's what we're looking at for the foreseeable future at QB.
He's also always been a highly regarded OL coach.

I don't understand the rush to hire him. Let's get the GM and his team in place first. Def of insanity: doing the same thing over-and-over again and expecting a different result. Let our new GM hire the next coach.
All in for Tom Gamble and Scott McCloguhan joining the Jets. It makes too much sense.

And one thing's for damn sure, Marrone has proven that he can attract a quality DC to oversee the defense.
Pettine and Schwartz the last 2 years

Plus he knows NFL South from Saints OC days. Tons of cap space to boot. Hope jets get him though.
