DONALD J. TRUMP CONTRACT WITH THE AMERICAN VOTER

President Trump is keeping his promise to cut regulations and is on a course to top former President Reagan's record of slashing the mountain of red tape created by Jimmy Carter, according to two independent reports.

The Competitive Enterprise Institute said that Trump has issued 58 percent fewer major and costly regulations than former President Obama and slashed the Federal Register, the government's rule book, by 32 percent.

And American Action Forum said that the Trump administration has saved $560 million by cutting regulations and meeting its promise to eliminate two old rules for every new one.

"As the Trump Administration transitions into the new fiscal year and next phase of Executive Order 13,771, it can reasonably claim net regulatory savings of roughly $560 million under the EO's first phase. There have been some new regulatory costs, but activity on that front remains at a historically low level," said American Action's Dan Goldbeck.

CEI Vice President Clyde Wayne Crews added, "It took a few years for Ronald Reagan to achieve his ultimate, one-third reduction in Federal Register pages following Jimmy Carter's then-record Federal Register. So by this metric, Trump is moving much faster."

Both reports looked at the regulation tally at the end of the fiscal year. The Trump administration postponed its plans for a "cut the red tape" day on Monday after the Las Vegas shootings.

In his report, Goldbeck said that overall, the president has barely met its two out, one in rule but that it is on its way to major rule reduction. "With clearly ambitious targets and likely a better understanding on how to implement such programs, the Trump administration's deregulatory push does not appear to be slowing down," he reported.

Crews focused on costly "significant" rules and found them way down. "Significant rules issued, generally those with an impact of $100 million or more, are down an astonishing 58 percent compared to Obama. Trump's agencies issued 116 significant final rules during his first nine months, while Obama's issued 274 over the corresponding nine-month period in 2016. This also ignores any portion of Trump's rules that are deferrals or freezes," he reported.

And he said that big rules in the pipeline are the lowest for a first year president than any president since George H.W. Bush.

Williamstown (United States) (AFP) - With unemployment declining, the local truck plant expanding and optimism on the rise, one industrial heartland region has become a microcosm of the reinvigorated America promised by Donald Trump.

Seen from Williamstown, 300 miles (500 kilometers) west of Washington, the political tumult since Trump's November 8, 2016 victory appears artificial to those who welcome his leadership as a break from business as usual.

The sleepy West Virginia town is in Wood County where 70 percent of voters celebrated the anti-establishment victory. A year later, they are pledging their loyalty to the Trump revolution, praising the billionaire businessman-turned-national-leader for already delivering on his declaration to reverse their declining fortunes.

In an elbow of the industrial Ohio River basin, barges are filled with freight. Factories lining nearby Route 7 belch smoke and steam. On the highways, trucks are loaded with sections of pipeline and water tanks used in the region's shale gas drilling.

The town's pride is the Hino factory, a subsidiary of Toyota that employs 300 people. In September it announced 250 more hires. The manufacturer has outgrown its facility, and will soon relocate to bigger digs 20 miles south.

Local truckers are benefitting from the boon. An employment agency across the bridge in Marietta, Ohio lists 898 truck-driving jobs within a 50-mile radius.

"We are much better off than we were before (Trump) became president," Jean Ford, the mayor of Williamstown, population 3,000, tells AFP.

The television set in her modest office is broadcasting Fox News.

Ford, a jeweler by profession who is slight but speaks in firm tones, recalls her unrestrained joy on election night.

She cannot point to specific policies that have demonstrably helped her region. What matters, she stresses, is that confidence has returned.

National indicators of consumer and business confidence corroborate the sentiment.

But the economy was already healing under Barack Obama, argues Jessie King.

The 33-year-old gas pipeline specialist sporting bright eyes and prematurely-graying hair recently rose to become business manager of a local construction workers' union.

He has lived all his life in the area, and observed its timid recovery after years of job loss and resident flight.

"Maybe he's getting to reap the benefits on some of that," King says of Trump.

- Indulgence -

Supporters of the 45th president are not naive. They are well aware of Washington's stagnant reforms despite Trump's efforts to "drain the swamp."

Instead they point to those they see as the real culprits: Congress, the establishment, Democrats, the media, and liberal judges.

Ford, who has been mayor for 20 years -- and says her age is a secret -- can relate to Trump being blocked by a reluctant Congress.

The city council once denied her request to raise the sewer tax, but that did not stop her from building a municipal pool and parks.

Patience with Trump will pay off, she says. "By this time next year we will see the difference."

The local economy is dependant on manufacturing and nearby natural gas production. It's what keeps trucker Tim Runnion busy.

"There's never going to be anybody that's going to make everybody get along," the 29-year-old says on a lunch break in Ellenboro.

"I like the fact that he's not afraid of the foreign countries."

Trump's supporters have claimed some successes: anti-immigration orders, strong military rhetoric, and environmental deregulation, especially in a state where coal is sacred.

What of his failure to repeal Obamacare, or his impetuous Twitter habits? Forget about it.

"They see him as having flaws, they seem him as having a temper... as being, frankly, a normal person, just like we are," says Rob Cornelius, who chairs the Republican Party in Wood County.

"People are willing to give him a pass, they think the world is against him."

They also appreciate the robust economic indicators.

The economy grew at a three percent clip in the third quarter, the stock market has set new records, and unemployment dipped to 4.2 percent in September, the lowest in 16 years.

"Regardless of how you feel about President Trump, you're up, and you're up a lot in the last year," Cornelius said of Americans with retirement investments.

None of this makes much sense for the more than 60 percent of Americans who disapprove of Trump's performance.

Democrats here note that the number of people without health insurance was halved thanks to Obamacare. And they say opioid addiction, a scourge that kills 65,000 annually and which has decimated the region, is still awaiting Trump's emergency plan.

Nevertheless, more than 80 percent of Republicans remain loyal, only slightly less than in January. The dam holds.

Part of this support is a purely partisan reflex, observes Lynn Vavreck, professor of political science at University of California, Los Angeles. The phenomenon has been intensifying for years, among Republicans and Democrats.

Trump as an outsider creates a deep emotional connection with his supporters.

"It is in fact more than patience, it is a sign of deep loyalty and commitment," Vavreck says. "It's a lot like rooting for a sports team."

Historically, she recalls, presidents have a re-election advantage, particularly if the economy fares well.

Runnion, the truck driver, says he is already committed: In 2020, he'll vote Trump.

President Donald J. Trump had arguably the best first year for any President in US history since Washington – in spite of massive headwinds from the actions of the corrupt and criminal prior administration, the Democrat Party and their MSM! Below is a list of his major accomplishments.
President Trump was inaugurated on January 20th, 2017, one year ago. Since then his accomplishments are nothing short of miraculous. In spite of massive attacks from the MSM, an investigation created through the efforts of the prior corrupt administration, and a Democrat Party that does all they can to derail him, the President kept his promises and did all he could to Make America Great Again. The results speak for themselves.

The Economy –
The US stock market is a barometer of economic activity and since President Trump was elected President it has skyrocketed.

The stock market on Wednesday, January 17th, 2018, this past week, says it all. On that day the Dow broke 26,000 points for the first time in its history. As a result the Dow broke the record for the fastest 500, 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000, 6,000 and 7,000 point increases between major milestones in the history of the Dow. All of these increases occurred since Donald Trump was elected President.

The Dow today stands at 26,071.7. It is up 42% since the 2016 election and 31% since last year’s inauguration. The Dow had more all-time closing highs in 2017 than any year in history. President Trump enjoys 95 all-time highs since his election and 78 since his inauguration. The Dow is up an amazing 7,739 points since the election.

Today there are more people working than at any time in US history. More than 2 million new jobs were created in 2017 under President Trump and as a result more than 160 million people are working in the US today.

President Trump increased the GDP growth rate to above 3% in the 2nd and 3rd Quarters and the 4th Quarter was sizzling. President Trump could reach a 3% GDP growth rate his first year in office, an annual GDP that the US hasn’t seen in a decade. At the end of the 3rd Quarter the national GDP reached $19.5 trillion for the highest recorded GDP in US history.

The President’s tax plan passed in late December and is already benefiting Americans and American companies. Employees will see increases in their pay next month due to the lower Federal taxes. Millions of Americans have received bonuses due to the tax cuts and major companies have announced plans to move capital and operations to the US due to these cuts. The benefits of these cuts haven’t even transpired yet but the excitement amongst workers and companies is electric. 2018 is poised to have one of the greatest economies in US history!

Foreign Policy
President Trump vowed to destroy ISIS. Despite President Obama saying that ISIS will be around for a generation, these murderers and terrorists in the Middle East were decimated over the past year. Both Syria and Iraq have declared victory over ISIS and due to President Trump’s resolve, less than 1,000 ISIS fighters are estimated remaining.

President Trump met with the Pope, leaders of 50 Muslim countries and Israeli and European leaders in his first trip abroad. He demanded that the Muslim leaders remove radicals from their countries.

The President refused sending Pakistan security assistance in the millions due to the Pakistani’s harboring terrorists. He stopped an Obama last minute $221 million transfer to Palestine and cut aid to Palestinians in half. He showed that the US is unwilling to work with Muslim entities that support radical Islam.

On President Trump’s successful trip to Asia he bundled an estimated $300 billion in deals for the US. He met with Asian leaders and was the first US President and foreign leader to dine in China’s Forbidden City since the founding of modern China.

US Policy
The President named and successfully put in place a new Supreme Court Justice, Neil Gorsuch. He signed more than 90 executive actions in his first 100 days alone. The actions included –

* Dismantling Obama’s climate change initiatives.
* Travel bans for individuals from a select number of countries embroiled in terrorist atrocities.
* Enforcing regulatory reform.
* Protecting Law enforcement.
* Mandating for every new regulation to eliminate two.
* Defeating ISIS.
* Rebuilding the military.
* Building a border wall.
* Cutting funding for sanctuary cities.
* Approving Keystone and Dakota pipelines.
* Reducing regulations on manufacturers.
* Placing a hiring freeze on federal employees.
* Exiting the US from the TPP.

The list of POTUS 45’s successes goes on and on.

Undoubtedly there is more to do. The wall is not yet in place and Democrats are willing to shut down the government and stop providing money to our troops so that illegals are given citizenship. The FBI and DOJ are headed by Obama leftovers who are involved in corrupt and criminal activities. A bogus investigation was created by these scoundrels and the current AG who recused himself from anything Russia appears to be inept and sleeping. But based on President Trump’s performance to date, he will address these issues successfully in due time as well.

Overall President Trump’s first year in office was outstanding. He was attacked from all sides at times and stood tall and to his principles. America is stronger and greater than ever before. The economy is growing and the world is safer. 2017 was certainly one of the greatest years in US history. President Trump kept his promises and has truly Made America Great Again!
