It sounds like this healthcare bill has the potential to be a piece of shit and might not pass because of the conservative Rs. If the Dems were smart they would have just enough members vote to get it to pass to hang on Trump in 2020.

Mark Meadows, Chair of the Freedom Caucus, just said they are working hard and he was optimistic they are going to reach a deal by tomorrow.
All this bullshit about them being split was a set up to make it look like they were able to work together and make deals in the end. So long as they are able to get Part 2 and Part 3 done and get prices down everyone will look like heroes.
I wanted them to just let it implode but they are insisting they need to do this before the tax cuts come.

One court upheld his travel ban yesterday. I believe it was in Maryland. So the courts are split which pretty much guarantees it will go before SCOTUS. At this point it is more about making sure a precedent isnt set rather than about the ban itself. By the time SCOTUS hears the case, General Kelly and Tillerson will have their extreme vetting measures in place.
As for the Healthcare plan it was a campaign pledge. But it was also a pledge for Romney/Ryan. And they lost, as we all know. What put Trump over the top was immigration and trade. That is how he broke the "blue wall". They are never getting 60 votes to do a proper repeal and get this done the right way. At least not yet. That may change once Obamacare implodes for real.
