Today is essentially the "draft" for college football. National Signing Day is today.
For or those of you who like big talented WRs, I introduce you to Tee Higgins, the next in a line of great Clemson WRs. Tee is 6'5" and according to Dabo Swinney, the most talented WR he has ever recruited. Mike Williams came in with a ton of expectations and certainly lived up to them, and Tee comes in with similar expectations. Barring injury he will be day one starter as a true freshman.
So when the 2020 draft rolls around, expect to see Tee love, as I fully expect the Jets will still have not drafted a legit WR prospect.

He is the most complete receiver of the recent bunch to come out. Hopkins was damn good though, but Williams with his size has the ability to be really good. I'd rate Williams slightly above Hopkins just because of his size and massive catch radius.

And congrats to QB Tommy Devito from Don Bosco here in NJ for signing with Syracuse. Have been to many camps with Tommy since he was in 7th grade. Good kid and he has a chance to play early at Syracuse.

Thanks for heads up.
What other signings do you think we ought to be aware of? Harris at bama is all I know. And some qb Miami signed.
How about my gators. Lacklustre signings on O lately.

All that matters is how you finish and the Gators finished strong. Creeping into the top 10 range after starting the day in the mid 20's. Cant complain. The 5 stars continue to be elusive and that has to change but a promising day none the less for the Gators getting help on both sides of the ball. You just to hope that between Franks, Allen and Trask can step up and beat out Del Rio because I think they have the best WR's on campus that they have since the Urban days. I'm really excited to see Callaway, Cleveland and now Robinson....and dont sleep on Green!

I did see the 4 star WR Robinson kid, which was good to see. Keep that lineage at WR going... but is there any hope at QB?.. i don't know those kids well enough, but people seem wary.

Like you said they didn't sign one 5 star recruit and didn't get one kid from the top 100. FSU and even Miami to a lesser extent is killing them in state. Solid class, just not spectacular. Will be interesting to see how McElwain recruits against Jimbo and Richt.

Thanks for the invite and heads up about the board. There is hope at Qb. Felipe Franks. The kid has to come around at some point. I mean, he's absolute freak of athlete. 6'5 big arm, fast...he's the perfect mold of a college QB but the dude was awful in both the Army game and the Gators spring game. The commit they got this year, Jake Allen, is the type of natural passer pocket QB that Coach Mac likes but he need to add some bulk. And then there is Kyle Trask, 6'5 probably the best arm of them all and people are saying he's turning the most heads of them all. They've got options, it's up to Coach Mac and Nussmeier to develop them...which is supposed to be their forte.

Will be interesting to see how McElwain recruits against Jimbo and Richt. I dont think that's necessarily the truth. I assume you're taking this position because Clemson only had, what, 15 spots or something like that and fell around 15th? The Gators having 24...only 3 teams in 24/7 sports top 10 had less. I think it's because they landed 11 4 stars with a couple of those guys being pubic hair close to 5 stars (Williams and Slaton). That said, you cant compete in the SEC and think you actually have a chance vs. Bama in Atlanta if you cant find 5 star players. Coach Mac saved his ass because the backlash Gainesville if we ended up in the 20's might have been too much for him to handle. At one point he was behind Kentucky who hasnt beaten Florida since 1987 and Tenn who the Gators are 14-1 vs. in the last 15 years. lol. The issue is, FSU is killing it. And nobody recruits South Florida better the Mark Richt. The Gators need look very hard at their facilities. They're outdated and these kids going on visits are seeing FSU and Miami then comparing it to Florida and are probably laughing. It's outdated and you cant sell National Championships anymore. The icing on the cake would be if we could land your boy, Jake Fruhmorgen. Rumor is he's considering it after leaving Clemson. We need OL help big time.

Sounds like Jake is deciding between Michigan and Florida. There are quiet rumors that he was or is dealing with a pain meds issue after his shoulder injury this year. Not sure what his state of mind or body is in now. Regardless, he'll have to sit in 2017. Correct about out competing with Bama and the rest of the SEC. Right now Saban doesn't even have to leave his office to sign a #1 recruiting class anymore. Im kinda surprised that McElwain hasn't been able to bring in some better QB prospects. Really, UF is a legit QB away from competing for an SEC title. The rest of the roster can hang with anyone, lackluster and even poor QB play has killed them. Like you said Trask is probably their best option, Franks' issues are between his ears IMO. He looks the part, has some tools but it's not translating on the field. The problem with the college game is that you don't have time to "develop" a kid anymore.

I think Williams is great, but have trouble calling him Clemsons most complete receiver of recent years. He seems to get by on leaping ability, I don't see the precise route running of a say Deandre Hopkins or the flat out burner of a Sammy Watkins. But it also could be is leaping ability is so damn good I don't get to appreciate his shiftiness or route running. I just don't think he will be able to run and jump and get the ball in the NFL like clemson had him did. But then again Mike Evans seems to be doing quite well doing essentially the same thing so what do I know.

Good kid and he has a chance to play early at Syracuse. With the way Dungey puts himself at risk half a dozen times a game, DeVito will see action this year. No red shirt for him. Dungey is a pretty talented QB but I think he's a concussion or 3 away from not playing again. _
