Hmmm… I respect your views. What about Pompeo don’t you like? I get it. On paper he reads like the most qualified Republican to hold any office he wants.
There wasnt much blowback to him being CIA Director which was a red flag. He helped Haspel succeed him. And she was tied to spying on the Trump campaign while she was London Chief. He wanted to assassinate Assange. And he was the main person who convinced Trump not to release the JFK files.
I guess you can blame all those on Trump. When the wolf comes as a wolf you shouldnt be surprised.
Trump has admitted he needed to learn a lot about staffing and who is truly loyal. I think he tried to mend fences with the establishment and that was naive as they infiltrated his administration and sabotaged him. "Enemy within" as he says.
Hopefully he threads the needle tonight so we can go back to complaining about staffing and temperament rather than the country going to hell.

I'm hoping Elon, RFK, and DeSantis can help weed that shit out. I dont think DeSantis has a future. JD has surpassed him and it isnt even close anymore.
DeSantis is a brilliant conservative mind and a great governor. One of the greatest governors of my lifetime. Easily the most consequential. He has turned Florida permanently red.
His fatal flaw is he allowed too many Never Trumpers and Bushes into his orbit. It cost him the primary. One of the worst primaries I have ever seen ran. And JD blows him away in the personality department.

Florida doesn't have term limits either. I can see Desantis being governor there as long as he wants. Maybe he aligns with Trump/Vance more and improves his image nationally. I don't see him ever wanting to be VP unless that is his only path to the white house. |

I think DeSantis can make a comeback. He’s young enough, qualified, smart, well spoken and has a proven track record of success in FLA. I like JD also even though he was originally anti-Trump until he saw the light. Let’s see how it goes tonight first and then we’ll focus on the future. |
