I think La Pen may pull this out. Shit, even Bridget Bardot is for La Pen. Don't underestimate the "patriotism" of the French. Is there a people of any nation more certain of their own superiority than the French? Bardot is widely considerd a nut job, PETA fetishist. As for your comment on patriotism I understand what you're saying but I wouldn't call it patriotism. On the geopolitical global scale, we do think and act like we're more important than we really are, no doubt. I think we have a problem in being just patriotic/proud of our country. America is on the other spectrum IMO where if you don't have a flag on your car or home it's almost weird. Here, until recently (read since the attacks) if you have a French flag on your car you're considered a fascist. It's bizarre. We have a hard time separating patriotism and nationalism since both have always been a halmark of Le Pen. Waiving a French flag has always symbolic the the National Front. Interesting. Just seems to be a suicidal attitude. The folks pouring into European countries under the banner of refugee are not there to assimilate, preserve and get along. Their very core beliefs dictate disdain for non-muslims and women. How can you pretend otherwise? Attack after attack after attack, there, here...its coming Raoul...how do you think a fucking guy like Trump got himself elected? |
