Froster. Never heard of him. I thought that was just the scotch talking. _ Goodell might be hitting the scotch so you never know. I would be throwing back a few if I had to spend a day in that shit hole called Philadelphia.

Witherspoon or Jones (helps us tank next year). The irony is that we have so many needs and our secondary was so bad this year, that CB would make sense in R2, just like Adams was a good pick in R1. Its just the context of the last 8 years, with so many defense first drafts, and in spite of that, our defense still sucks. I have a hard time getting excited over more defense. I get it but I have been trying to look at this from a total rebuild point of view. Not giving Macc a pass but he wasn't drafting for the last 8 years. We gave up a gazillion long plays last year. We need to improve big time. Our biggest problem of course if is offense and most obviously QB. I am hoping the 2018 draft is much more offensive oriented. Depending on how the young QBs play... and my hopes aren't high, I am hoping we play hard this year but end up with a shitty record and draft a QB and some offense too. I can can be patient if I see us going in the right direction. Adams certainly isn't a sexy pick but it's an important piece of the puzzle.

Gotta get cook in the 2nd. Do whatever is necessary. Don't see too much competition unless a trade up. May be the chargers before us.

If somehow Cook falls to us this draft is a homerun.
Not as much of a grand slam had we traded down but still.

Fuck it. I'll say it. I love what the Browns have done. They've got a bunch of analytics guys running the team now. Baseball dudes. I think they killed it today, and picked up a pick for next year. They'll have the ammunition to trade back to the top next year for a QB....which is exactly what I wanted the Jets to do this year. Trade back from #6 and don't ask for a 2nd round this year, get a 1st rounder next year.

Many already have RBs or drafted one today. The Rams have Gurley, the Chargers drafted Melvin Gordon just a couple years ago, the Jaguars took Fournette today. Only a couple teams that might want Cook. He may fall but I'm not sure I could stomach waiting for him at the 7th pick in Round 2. If I'm the Jets I might try to move up a little.

Could easily argue he was the 2nd best overall player in the draft.
Hell, Bucky Brooks, whose opinion I certainly respect, had him #1 ahead of Garrett.

I can't argue with the logic. Draft to the strength of the draft. Its just hard to get excited over. But still, I can't help but believe that other teams just value offensive playmakers more than we do, and that is part of the reason we are "lucky" enough to get guys like Leo Williams and Jamal Adams. Top 10 is about edge rushers and offensive playmakers. I hope Adams is great, but like I said, its hard for me to be excited about the pick. Can't the pick, but cant get excited either. Exact same wy I felt about L Adams isn't an exciting pick and he won't show up on the stat sheet all the time. He just does his job and holds everyone else accountable. And yes our team doesn't take enough risks. We rely on players that chip away on offense or hold steady on defense. Nobody is a playmaker. We don't have anyone that can go 80 yards or take a INT 80 yards. I'd love one, but we're so devoid of talent. That's why I like taking solid building blocks right now. Leo and Adams will build a solid culture on defense. Cook in the 2nd would be that home run guy on offense. If he's not there give me another solid building block in Witherspoon and Baker. Then ship Pryor and Richardson out.

When you have as many holes as we do, and only 7 picks, it is tough to trade up. Without a 4, we would probably have to give up next year's 3 or potentially a 5 & 6 to move up a couple of picks. And if GB has their eyes on Cook, it is not going to matter since they are first on the clock tomorrow.
