Austin Calitro Inside LineBacker SCHOOL: VILLANOVA | CONFERENCE: D-IAA HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 6-0 / 239 | 40: 4.69 | DRAFT YR:2017 Rankings
GRADE 3.21
PROJECTED ROUND FA
Bio:
Two-year starter who was awarded First Team All-CAA honors in 2016 and earned an invite to the East-West Shrine Game. Earned Third Team All-CAA honors in 2015. Finished his career with 219 tackles, 8.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and two interceptions. Was named team captain as a senior.
Pos:
Productive run-defending linebacker with solid size and speed numbers. Rarely off his feet, breaks down well and uses his hands to protect himself. Fast and fluid moving to every area of the field, displays good change of direction and shows speed in pursuit. Sells out on the blitz, lays it on the line and wraps up tackling. Gets depth on pass drops.
Neg:
Shows indecision in his game. Easily blocked from the action or engulfed at the point. Marginal production against the pass.
Analysis:
Entering the season Calitro was graded as a potential late-round choice but has displayed himself to be a bit one-dimensional. He offers possibilities as a backup inside linebacker in a 3-4 alignment and plays with a special-teams mentality.

Some talented edge rushers still out there. I don't think there is a chance in hell that Macc will sign Devonte Fields, but Jojo Mathis is still available.

Sucks for Mathis. God I hate the fucking Cowboys. Especially since we have their 5th rounder next year. Extra incentive to hope they suck. Sophomore slump for Dak?

draftanalyst.com/connor-harrisConnor HarrisInside LineBacker SCHOOL: LINDENWOOD | CONFERENCE: D-IAA HEIGHT/WEIGHT: 5-11 / 242 | 40: 4.73 | DRAFT YR:2017 Rankings GRADE 3.19 PROJECTED ROUND FA Pos: Tough, nasty small-school linebacker who may also get consideration at fullback. Instinctive, quick to read and diagnose and a dominant run defender. Breaks down well, effectively uses his hands and defeats blocks on his way to the ball carrier. Plays faster than his 40 time, shows a closing burst and drives through tackles. Displays terrific short-area quickness, easily changes direction and moves well laterally. Remains disciplined with coverage assignments. Neg: Short and overmatched by tight ends in coverage. Lacks great pursuit speed. Slow getting back to balance off the initial hit. Analysis: Harris is a natural football player who seems to enjoy contact and is always working to get involved in the action. He’ll offer possibilities at inside linebacker in a 3-4 alignment or possibly as a lead blocker, but more than anything else Harris could make a roster this September as a special-teams demon. Saw this on Harris and thought I'd share

My chosen longshot sleeper who I will be rooting for - not a huge amount of production as a senior, but displays an impressive speed/strength combo and plays with great effort from sideline to sideline. And we definitely have needs at the position: www.thegridironcrew.com/nfl-draft-2017-prospect-jareid-combs/Edit: For some reason, they had him playing DE in a 3-4 his senior year. At 255lbs. His production is actually pretty impressive based on that. The film is worth a watch.

Any news if they are planning to play Harris at ILB or FB? Both? Seems like a Julian Howshare replacement.

The Harvard FB is supposed to be a pretty good receiver
