When do you go and have you ever been before? I am looking at Exuma or Abaco. Anything to do on the island but fish? I would VRBO a house to be honest. Never been. Not scheduled in the foreseeable future either. I was just imagining what it would be like to be on an exotic beach with my personal servant where all I'd have to do to get a drink is a hand signal and a small nod. Heading to poor mans Exuma in a week. The land of Florida Man. I'll have to make my own drinks. Be careful with VRBO. A lot, if not most, is not BO anymore. They'll charge you a bullshit 5% fee now, some kind of 'VRBO guarantee'. Look at the fine print, if it's a real estate company, contact them direct instead of thru VrBO. Thanks for the heads up. I also saw a resort type place were I can get a 2300 sq foot 2 bedroom place. It's like 700 a night though and not all inclusive. Maybe get friends to go and they can have the second bedroom.

You do an @ symbol followed by their screen name. No spaces. PM 32Green he has a whole bunch of neato tricks written up in a handy compendium he can send you. _ Thanks. Enjoy the wine and weekend. Very nice. Kind of like a light un-oaked chard. Not as acidic as I like in my whites but I'll buy it again. _

Made some roasted haddock yesterday. Sweated chopped garlic, scallions, shallots and thyme in olive oil & butter. Deglazed with a bit of white vermouth (my preferred cooking wine). Then poured over haddock filets which had been seasoned with salt/pepper/smoked paprika. Finally, splashed with a bit of Pernod and placed in a 375 degree oven until internal temp. registered approx. 140 degrees. Came out so delicious, delicate and flaky. My son ate all what I had hoped would be leftover. lol Drank this Rhone rose with it:

One of the things my kids got me for Father's Day was a slow cooker. Never had one.
Making Ropa Vieja with black beans and yellow rice.
Just shredded the meat and threw it back in the cooker for another hour.
Can't wait.

Just got back from the pool after floating in the Gulf for the day. Enjoying a glass of Starborough sauv blanc before I go shower the salt and chlorine off my balls.

I made some coconut rice and mesclun salad (Parmigiano vinaigrette) to round out the dinner. JS, you live in Bergen. I gotta give a huge shout out to my favorite fish market, The Fish Dock in Closter. All fish is shipped to them directly from their native Iceland. You will not find fresher fish in the area. You ever been there? If not, stop in sometime if you're in this part of Bergen. thefishdock.com
