Stokes - you've been served a softball. Let's hear it.... BTW- I'm not normally a huge fan of fruit infused beers, other than a squeeze of lime in a Corona. Please let us know how it tastes. So, just drank one of these. Gotta say I enjoyed it. Could see myself drinking these all afternoon at a BBQ. Not like a shandy at all, which is fine for me. I never enjoyed lemonade with beer. Basically, this stuff is a not too hoppy Summer ale. Crisp and delightful. Can't say I actually tasted watermelon or lime. Not sweet at all. Would probably buy it again. Just saw your original post and then this. I had the new Belgium fat tire watermelon, don't think it had a hint of lime. But the watermelon ales I thought were shit. Probably still have half the six pack sitting in the basement to throw in the cast off cooler when company comes over for a BBQ.

I actually found it pleasant. Possible that it's a different brew this season?

Saw this out of the corner of my eye walking out of ShopRite earlier. Gonna be hot this weekend, so I figured WTF I'll give it a go. Cooling right now in the fridge. Looking forward to cracking one open later. Anybody ever try it? Never tried it but New Belgium is easily my favorite big brewer. If I try a fruit infused beer it's normally something citrus based. A local brew pub by me called Boxing Bear makes a blood orange pale ale and it is fucking fantastic.

I have realized the yeast they use gives me some kind of allergic reaction and makes me feel like I'm dying for 2 days when I drink it. Real shame because I love their beers

If you ever see their Voodoo Ranger IPA. Get it. Amazing. I have drank it and dealt with the consequenses a few times. It's not over the top hoppy. Which is nice.

I am going to toast my spices first then grind then in my spice grinder. I may Brown the meat first, not sure. I also may make chicken vindaloo instead because a few people coming over aren't huge lamb fans. Pussies. Wow, spice grinder AFTER toasting?? Guessing dry with no oil? Hopefully you browned the meat first and reduced the brown good stuff into the slow cooker... I fuckin love indian food and was a pig in shit to find out I could actually pull off cooking it. More bark then bite to cook if you know what I mean. Everyone raves about my curries

Also, I use butter and EVOO... because I'm not gonna search out an Indian market just for the ghee... It works very nicely.
I will give you a lil tip I learned from an old Indian man. Put a little potato with a clove or few of garlic lil ginger and a roma tomato (and also bell pepper if you want) with a tsp or so EVOO in a food processor and get it to a puree and pour that in after the first spices/onion stage and that shit will be GOOD.

I'll look for it. IMO, folks have gone off the rails insane with the friggin' hops. I don't find drinking what tastes like pine tree juice at all pleasant.

Clarifying butter is a no brainer. You don't need to buy ghee.

Is that a raw potato or a boiled one? And what kind? Yukon Gold or Russet? I have ghee so no biggie. But yes I toast the spices first in a pan and then throw them in a spice blender. _

I'm getting a little nervous about the vindaloo tomorrow - what's the deal with the potatoes? No shoulder stew meat at my local meat monger so I bought a whole leg of lamb bone in and had the butcher debone it and cube it for me. Have about twice as much lamb as I need. Maybe do some lamb skewers as an appetizer. _
