I know people like to point out that these terrorists are EU born but that is just a technicality. The environments they grow up in are essentially different countries. This problem was a generation in the making and will only get worse. SCOTUS announced they were going to expedite review of the travel ban. I dont know why people aren't calling for Ginsburg to recuse herself yet. Her comments about Trump clearly bring into question her impartiality. Trump is doing fine. He is fighting a battle on 5 fronts. Is there a magical solution to global terrorism? Personally, I think Herr Trump should put his money where his mouth is and just start nuking the Middle East. Only real solution is full-scale occupation of the countries (Libya, Syria, Yemen, Qatar, Iran, etc) combined with safe zones for refugees and committing to babysit the area for eternity. You cannot just turn over the countries back to these people. They have never had democracy. We can barely handle democracy. All they know is war and dictatorships. There cannot be power vacuums. We need to learn from Iraq and Libya. Over the past 16 years we have spent about $7 trillion in the middle east. Think about what we could have done here with that money. |
