Unfortunately many of them continue the promote the political ideology that led to them relocating in the first place. High taxes, high cost of living, etc. One of the great crimes of my lifetime would be seeing Texas tainted and turned by the hypocrites fleeing California. That is a phenomenon I will never understand. People leave somewhere like Mexico and then try to turn it into the shit hole they left. That is a recent phenomenon. The reason why we have been successful with immigration in the past is because we more or less forced assimilation, unlike many places in Europe. But I think that has changed in recent years. I also think there is a stark difference between the immigration we saw at the turn of the 20th century and the kind we have seen in the past 30 years. Our assimilation is getting worse.

I already did and make NO mistake, people are fleeing NY, NJ, Ill by the thousands everyday! Unfortunately many of them continue the promote the political ideology that led to them relocating in the first place. High taxes, high cost of living, etc. One of the great crimes of my lifetime would be seeing Texas tainted and turned by the hypocrites fleeing California. Interestingly... native southerners see retired NY, NJ public employees with pensions of 100K to 200K move here and buy HUGE homes and some of them are not even 45. They simply shake their heads. However, to your point, most northerners who move here may remain sort of "rough" to southerners, but, the liberal infiltration is coming from within. The liberal Governor of NC, mayor of Charlotte are both long term southerners who were indoctrinated in college.

Too many accommodations were made to support multilingualism which IMO has been devastating. In the early 20th c immigration (before (D) shut it down) there were lots of rules-had to have a sponsor/connection, promise of a job, commit to be American, learn English. Nothing stopping you from speaking your native tongue at home or in your community. Now, for example, a local "immigrant" community can communicate at all levels without a syllable of English, watch their own TV, even from back "home"- no need to assimilate as before The govt using tax $ prints publications, educated in 2nd language When local courts let you exact your own justice (sharia) that is where the line must be drawn in solid red paint
