I will start by stating that, NO I am not excusing slave owners/traders from the American past. It is a black stain on our history but when looked at in context of the rest of the world at the time it isn't shocking that it happened back then. Liberals act as though slavery was and still is an American problem only however there are supposedly more slaves now than ever before. Somehow reparations to all American blacks, most of whom have no relation to slavery in America. Slavery is used as a crutch and excuse by the American left even though it was abolished here over 150 years ago. Wouldn't the right cause be to try and stop slavery in the places where it still thrives rather than beating the dead horse of America's slave history? www.freetheslaves.net/about-slavery/slavery-today/

Liberals seem to be willing to turn a blind eye towards slavery and other humans rights violations so long as it is China committing them. $$$$$$$$$
And slavery wasnt an American problem. The Europeans brought it here. Slavery went on for thousands of years in other parts of the world. It was in America for less than a century after we won our independence. We fought a war to end it. Doesnt mean there aren't scars and room for improvement but I think our rapid progress relative to other countries gets lost in the discussion.
Very good point about migrants. They are vulnerable. Which is why the most humanitarian thing to do for them is to create safe zones for them and continue to exterminate terrorist organizations. What we are doing now is unsustainable. Even Bill Gates (a sacred liberal cow) has said so. And it is only going to get worse in the next 20-30 years as the sub-Saharan population grows at a rate faster than the rest of the world with no real way to support such a population on its own.

BLAH BLAH BLAH Put up or shut up - Instead of tearing down the first AA president at every turn, they could use the schools and museums to create a local monument to the commitment to diversity that is PROMISED in the US Constitution. It wouldn't have to be AA centric; or a throwback to "how far we have come". Just that we include everybody and POTUS44 is a good immediate reminder of that. If the WH could ask people to get together on this through initiatives, it would be powerful

They need to come here legally and nowhere in the Constitution does it say we HAVE to accept economic migrants. Edit: Barry is the first half white/black president, NOT the first AA president.

LOL They have basically stopped teaching history already but you want to slant it even more. The power of diversity is shoved down our throats at every turn but you don't think it is enough?

Every large company now has a Chief Diversity Officer or equivalent, as if to say "Hey, we're not racist!" Edit: And guess what race is prominently displayed in that role. Hint: they're never white.

Trump says he loves black people and all people of color and that he proves it by going after the bad hombres. If we look at the images brought to life on the "political" shows, they seem to be drawn down distinct lines. Trump only likes black folk that are big-titted gubbermint haters.
When is the President's next Breast COnference?

For me, the hilarity starts within the cubicles, as people of color see this token and roll their eyes. Now we are in business, so for their part/paychecks, I have to ask them to dig deep; (EDIT) to "BE A TEAM PLAYER". See the fun?

Along with the comments that have already been made, you don't think diversity for the sake of diversity is constantly being sold? The way I see it most people here think Obama should be judged on the results of his presidency not coddled because he is black. That is inclusion and equality, not creating more diversity training in schools, diversity exhibitions in museums or a monument to a president just because he was the first black president. I feel the diversity is all about division and separating people instead of unifying America. Obama was an extremely divisive president and did little to help minorities.

While African suffered for about 300 years, the British treated the Irish as bad or worse for close to a thousand years, in Ireland!
But its not cool to mention that.... /eyeroll
