Don't do it.
Play hard. Play aggressive. Play smart. Be highly competitive. Play inspired. I want to see all the young guys start on a high note and give us a glimpse of the future.
Just do not win this game.
Not saying to lose, just don't win. Maybe a fluke pick 6 or a missed FG as time expires, not a blowout but an effort that we can take solace in whilst still not blowing the golden ring.
I've been on the Falk train for a while trying to convince myself that Darnold isn't the guy.
But he is. He's the guy that is going to end nearly 5 decades of misery with a decade plus of excellence.
I've never been a proponent of losing unless there is a generational player at the most important position in all of sports as the consideration. Like a Marcus a few years ago. Took shit for that but how GREAT does that 4-12 feel now? Really proud of those meaningless wins in a lost season when maybe 3-13 or certainly 2-14 gets us Mariota? Tom-foolery.
So I'm not rooting for them to lose, just rooting for them not to win.
And since what we as fans think and do and how hard we root has no effect on what actually goes on in games, I am at peace with myself.
Don't do it.

Well one down 15 to go this will decide our future as fans we need a goal of 0 wins take no chances. I dont think Mac will screw up picking the wrong QB when pick the best player in the draft. When Adams and Williams fell to Mac he picked them so if the guy picks the best rated QB we should be fine. Seems if he has to pick later players in the draft he sucks. So the Jets need the #1 pick. Its the only way they will get the right guy.

Defense is doing its part. Only two weeks in, but as of now, for a team with a defensive minded head coach, and 9 straight first round picks on the defensive side of the ball. We are ranked:
27th in red zone TD % (75%) 32nd in points per game allowed (33.0) 30th in yards per game allowed (409.0) 31st in 3rd down conversion % (55.17%) 32nd in Opp Rushing Yards per Game (185.0) 17th in Opp Passing Yards per Game (224.0)

Except for those two fucktards -- McCown and Kearse. What do those assholes think they are doing hooking up for a couple of TDs. 2nd one, I can give them a pass, we were already down 42-13 for that one, but the first one, getting us back in the game in the 2nd quarter. Thankfully we had Kalif Raymond back on the punt return to keep the Tank Express on track...

They might get all "Bluto, and Germans bombing Pearl harbor" and eke out a win. Dicks.

What would plan B be if Darnold and Rosen decide to stay in school?

What would plan B be if Darnold and Rosen decide to stay in school? *ducks* God forbid...then I would take a guy like Arden Key or the best available OT, suck ass again next year, and then draft Darnold/Rosen in 2019.

LOL, this board would go apeshit if we drafted another defensive player. I almost want to see this happen, just for the lulz.

Here are the teams in competition for Darnold or Rosen going into week #3:
Bengals 0 - 2 Bears 0 - 2 Browns 0 - 2 Chargers 0 - 2 Colts 0 - 2 Jets 0 - 2 Saints 0 - 2 49'ers 0 - 2
Out of these teams, I would speculate the following
The Bengals have Andy Dalton, but they could choose to upgrade and launch him for Darnold or Rosen; The Bears might not go for a QB since they took Trubieski in the last draft; The Browns would take Darnold or Rosen in a heartbeat; The Chargers would likely take Darnold or Rosen as the heir apparent to Phillip Rivers; The Colts have Luck, but there are rumors he wants out of Indy, so it's toss a coin on them drafting a QB; The Jets would take either Darnold or Rosen without hesitation; The Saints would likely draft Darnold or Rosen as the heir apparent to Drew Brees; and The 49'ers would take either Darnold or Rosen as their first pick in the draft.

Agree but of all those teams, the only real contender for spots 1 and 2 besides us is SF, Indy (if Luck never comes back-yesterday would have been a huge win), Browns and maybe Chicago. We just need to be in the top 2. _

I would hate to have to write off two straight seasons, but if we had to I would trade back, get an extra 1 for 2019 so we have ammunition to move in the draft if needed. Then draft OT, WR1 and start Hack in 2018. Get the #1, have an extra 1 for insurance, but have pieces in place to help our guy succeed in 2019.

In the event both Darnold and Rosen are off the board when the Jets pick, is the fallback position Josh Allen, QB Wyoming? I was reading about him and one of the negatives is accuracy. It appears Darnold, who will be 21 in 2018 has all the tools. Would the Jets consider trading up with multiple picks to get him like Ditka did to get Ricky Williams for the Saints? I certainly hope it doesn't come to that but I think all options are on the table to solve the QB drought for the Jets.
