If we beat the Pats and then the Dolphins we would be on a 5 game win streak and 5-2 while being 3-1 in the division. Our remaining games are: vs Falcons vs Bills @ Buccaneers vs Panthers vs Chiefs @ Broncos @ Saints vs Chargers @ Patriots
5 of those games (in bold) are definitely winnable if the Jets improve and show that the Browns game was a trap game. That would be 10-6.
Now that being said I don't see that happening but we can dream. At this point why be so negative. Enjoy the ride.

Head wants a QB but heart won't let me root for this team to lose.

I'd reverse those two.

Long time sufferer here, my father and uncles bought season tickets at Shea back when Namath was still banging cheerleaders. As much as I would like for the Jets to get a franchise QB to build a team around for the next 12-15 years the odds are very much against that happening. It doesn't matter where they draft, I don't care if they had first overall somebody or something will fuck this up. 1980 2nd overall pick, Johnny Lam Jones. Yes that's right who? Fucker could outrun lightening with only one issue, he couldn't catch a pass. Blair Thomas another 2nd overall pick had a great 2 game career until he fumbled the ball on nationalTV and allowed a NYJ team to snatch defeat from the Jaws of victory. If they would've Picked Peyton Manning with the first pick he probably would have fallen off a boat in the bayou and got eaten by an alligator So my point is I'm rooting for the wins, This season has been a pleasant surprise so far and I'm hoping it continues the rest of the season. Only thing guaranteed in life is death and taxes.

I'd reverse those two. I could see that. I am just saying before the season we all saw 2-3 wins max. We are now at the best/worst case scenario of sweeping the easiest part of our schedule. The Pats are struggling and the Dolphins out right suck. There is nothing we can do about getting one of the top 2 QBs unless we trade a kings ransom to one of the perennially bad teams or snake bit Giants who will be at the top. I have enough real world issue to worry about. The Jets actually winning isn't one of them. I am just enjoying the ride.

If McCown goes down (not rooting for it) in the first quarter and Petty comes in and looks good-win.
If it's McCown the whole way, not win but look good not winning...oh and beat the shit out of Brady in any event.

He wouldn't have been in the green room on draft day, he would have been on a boat celebrating in a swamp in New Orleans. And wouldn't you know it, but young little Eli throws a banana peel on the poop deck and Peyton slips, falls and gets eaten by a gator. I can see it.

Sparkle Pony has a left shoulder sprain, not practicing But he is expected to play. As to the topic of this thread. Nobody began the season more firmly committed to the tank than I was. As of now, I still do not believe that the Jets are any better than I thought coming in to the season. We beat three teams that all played terrible games. That said, fuck yeah, I want to beat the Pats. If we can beat the Pats this week, then I will have to admit this is a much better team than I thought coming in, and it would be time to buy in. Which means, they probably beat the Pats get to 4-2 then stumble home going 2-8 the rest of the way, fiinsh 6-10 and picking 10tjh.

Looking back to the Raider game, the Jets were giving the heavily favored Raiders a tough time until the fumbled punt just before halftime. Needless to say if that punt was handled correctly the Jets would probably still have lost but by a much more respectable score. I would think the week leading up to the game most fans here truly expected the Jets to get blown out and they did but take away the punt and McCowns fumble and your looking st a much closer score

In a weird way I am enjoying this little run more than I have any Jets team in years
Came in expecting the worst, and now have a meaningful game, at home against the Pats
Now in no shape or form do I think we win. However, if somehow we pull off the improbable......damn, it will be fun
Secondly, this team really seems to be bonding like no other I can remember They all took the 0-16 predictions personally and are all in now toghether
Unexpected fun so far. Might as well keep winning now and enjoy the ride

Sparkle Pony has a left shoulder sprain, not practicing Already setting up the excuses, just in case they lose to the team that was predicted to be "historically bad". SaveSave

Sam doesn't even look like a franchise QB. Plus he's from USC. I'm all for "looking like a bright young team on the up & up" to the rest of the league. Unlike continuous tank teams like the Browns, we actually look respectable on our reboot. We have a solid foundation that we can build on with plenty of cap space & a bunch of picks.

Fuck this....I'm not giving up hope....lose'em all I say!
And I ain't buying into this three game winning streak as anything more then a SOJ curse. We caught three bad teams who played awful games against us.
