The cops gun had "You're fucked" etched onto it. The jury didn't hear that because of the judges ruling. At least he didn't have "Your fucked" on it. Right? It was supposedly on the cover for the gun. Either way this was a bunch of yahoos playing a deadly game of Simon says with a slightly drunk, scared guy. Bad situation all around. Guy shouldn't have reached but he never should have been put in that situation in the first place. |

What is the proper procedure to detain someone like that? Do they do it when hes on his stomach? Is the crawling thing a normal command? Its really not that complicated; There were at least two cops there and I think I heard that the guy yelling commands was not the one filming. Keep the guy face down, hands out. One guy covers while another moves in to secure the guys hands then search him. I really have no ideas what these guys were up to. For me, there's no other explanation than they were assholes bent on shooting someone. Absolutely criminal. So of all the high profile shootings we have seen of unarmed men the past few years would you say this is the worst? |

There are millions and millions of interactions every day between LE and civilians that are routine. A bad one can go viral in a few hours if it sells ad-space and fits someones agenda. Problem is..the one in South Carolina, there was a mistrial (mostly white jurors) and it was the Feds that got the cop for Civil rights violations. I'm not sure if the same will be pursued here, if so, it should absolutely be done. These cases are the ones that lead people to believe cops kill with impunity all the time. |
