Both extended for 2 years, through the 2020 season.

i'm glad... ownership would not have done this without hearing about a vetted, comprehensive plan for this and next offseason. mac has that plan and bowles has his own. this is exciting.

I have no problem with Big Mac's extension. I guess I have to accept Bowles coming back.

Bowles earned it with the way he had the team competing this year.
Macc has added some good young players. Now he just needs to find his franchise QB.

Fine by me. Macc has to nail this offseason or he's toast anyway. He's definitely raised the talent level some, but this team needs to take a big step forward in '18.

Guess they had to do it. Bowles is good and may be the guy to take the Jets far. But I don't think very of about the GM with the clueless looking face. If they fuck up in the draft and the rest of his area, fans must call for his head and balls next year.

I like the way the Giants did it ... picking a proven product ... but we have Maccagnan, so we will see. Of course I hope for the best. But when I see the guy's face on TV or in print media, I see the face of fucking idiot.

I'm ok with Mac back too.
This is the first time in a very long time when Ive seen the bottom of the Jets roster produce. Good teams always have that and Mac seems to be decent at that at least. Less impressed with the top of the drafting and the free agent spends, but he's earned the right to have some more rope.
Also surprised by Bowles frankly - thought this team was DOA this year. But he's never lost the team and the players seem to both genuinely like, respect and listen to him. Those are some key underpinnings of a good coach.
The two of them went 10-6 - I am pretty sure they have the bona fides to do it again. We just need players.....
This also likely means Morton sticks around and that's even better news. Even without plus players, this offense has looked as dynamic and flexible as I recall, certainly in over a decade.

I've been saying this since last February when the purge began. No way they were cutting all those players without an agreement that, barring something crazy, both Bowles and Mac were getting a pass on 2017, at least in terms of wins and losses.

No surprise here, they had to do it.
Only other option was cleaning house. You can’t have a lame duck HC and GM going into the final year or their deals.

I agree but I dont think we will get one unlike everyone on this board Im not big on Mac or Bowles. They have neglected offense and I dont think that will change anytime soon. Be prepared to see them draft a DE to replace Wilkerson. Forget the fact the Jets will still have a crack at drafting Josh Allen or Baker Mayfield without having to trade to move up.

Im hopin Mac is smarter than he looks and had a plan in place with Richardson to resign him after trading him to Seattle and he replaces Wilkerson after he gets released. DLine problem solved + Kearse + extra 2nd rd pick and they can STILL get a 1st rd QB.
