Seeing the outpouring of love for these wonderful Dreamers I thought this would be a good place to have a thread celebrating these poor kids who are stuck between countries due to no fault of their own. Please post their amazing accomplishments in this thread as a testament as to why they make America better. If we try hard and go back to old articles maybe we can make this thread 800,000 posts long so we can chronicle the accomplishments of each of them! Sorry if there are duplicates. There are just so many accomplishments to track. Maybe I should have a spot for a running list of names too.

“I am of the opinion — and the president has stated — that we have to figure out a good solution that protects these innocent people, many of whom were brought to the country as children,” Ivanka said, according to POLITICO. “There has to be a long-term fix, it can’t be bandaged over on a presidential level by another executive order.”
Five years ago this week, when I was secretary of Homeland Security, we began accepting the first Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) applications from “dreamers” who had been brought to this country without documentation when they were children. I will never forget that day: Tens of thousands of some of the best and brightest young people in our country applied to the program and celebrated their ability to live, work and learn in the only nation most of them had ever known.

Listen, politics ain’t beanbag. When you get into tough, complicated, contentious issues, sometimes rhetoric gets very fiery. If you don’t have a tough skin, this is not a good business to get into. I know what happened. I stand behind every word that I said in terms of that meeting. I’m focused on one thing — not that meeting — but on making sure that those who are being protected by DACA and eligible for the DREAM Act have a future in America. I am focused on that full time.
