YAY! More free stuff! I also support FBOT - free big ole titties. If you see 36DDs or bigger, you allowed to fondle them! woot! SOMEONE has to pay for those big ole titties. Those big ole titties aint free! I'd check the box on my income tax return to fund FBOT however! Not true: i have a right to the BOTs. I think its like the 134th Amendment.

I agree it's nuts - but the only shred of merit the general idea of UBI has is that it replaces monies that currently already flow to the "bottom". So, in essence, instead of 'training' the generationally poor in the ways of getting this and that check from the government and qualifying for this and that, you are granting a certain amount automatically and people are freer to do what they will with it.
There is maybe 1 way it would work and 100 ways it could go wrong but there is a nugget of a decent idea in there somewhere and it would be many times easier to manage a UBI system over the current system. Fraud would be less.

That's always been the case though - it's greedy to want to keep your own money but "progressive" to take it from someone to give to give to someone else. The parliament in South Africa just voted to expropriate white-owned farms without compensation. I was in Cape Town in '92 for a month - lovely place - was already turning into a shithole with the white flight and I can only imagine how bad it is going to get now.

Fraud would be less. Like most leftist policies it sounds workable on paper but in practice it is disastrous. Other countries with cushy social programs are enabled by us being the watchdog in the world. I dont think we have ever fought a war where we didnt leave a base behind in perpetuity. There are benefits and detriments to that. For us and those countries. And fraud would be less because you wouldnt even be looking for it anymore. If everyone gets something, nobody is stealing it. That doesnt make it a solution to the problem though.

Hopefully we do something for them. These are truly refugees who have been displaced by their government and dare I say are in danger of being cleansed. Been saying it for years, Africa is going to make the Middle East look like Disney World once the powder keg goes boom.
