Good cop, bad cop. He knows Bowles has it under control (last year nobody knelt) so he gets to look like the "players owner". As for the league, they think the anthem hurt their pocketbooks last year but it is only one slice of the pie. They have been pissing the fans off for years. The anthem shit was icing. They are many reasons why people arent going to games or tuning in on TV.
That said, I just want to enjoy our young QB. For the first time in years we have a future. Hopefully I can tune-in and enjoy some games.

You don’t get to choose the context in your workplace. Your employer does. Prove me wrong. In our context, dickwhistle, the employer says he's not interested in policing the team. CJ brushed away Trump's heavy hand so he can do good things for Jet fans. What “good things” is CJ doing for Jets fans? Do tell.

Chris Johnson publicly voices support for his players, no Jets player took a knee last year. I wonder if these facts are related in some way.

My god, I can't believe this nonsense is sticking around for a 3rd season.
The players are idiots, the nfl then goes and makes it worse.
Just dumb all around.

The jets were one of the few teams that didn’t have a single player kneel. Only thing I liked about these losers last year. Chris Johnson is not going out on a limb here.

I'm not so sure: Woody is an (R) and his dipshit brother comes along and uses the bullshit phrase "social justice"? Fuck him

Are other NFL team owners as despised as the Johnson brothers? If I remember correctly most liked Leon Hess even though he oversaw horrendous decisions such as Rich Uptight Kotite and drafting O'Brien vs Marino.

I see it as CJ saying, kneel or stand win or lose we are 1 team, not a bunch of ME players. We wont have a distraction, no more circus.
On a side note, imagine if we did draft Rosen? Holy fuck this place would have exploded.

You don’t have freedom of speech in a workplace. Walk into your job tomorrow and tell your boss “go fuck your self”. You won’t be arrested, but you’ll be applying for welfare over the weekend. IN our context, it's a political statement, not insubordination. Prove me wrong. thats one of my biggest axes against the left is that they inject politics into everything...

Fair enough but your boss cant make you stand for the national anthem either. Listen i dont agree with liberals on anything. But i do not condone Forced Patriotic Americans. It's a little to Nazi for me. It's America you have the right to burn the flag and not be hung for treason. I have the right to cave your fucking head in if you do it in front of me. neither do i...but the issue here is what the players were actually protesting about...Kapernick was all over the map...

It's a America. Freedom is mother fucka. You don’t have freedom of speech in a workplace. Walk into your job tomorrow and tell your boss “go fuck your self”. You won’t be arrested, but you’ll be applying for welfare over the weekend. And Chris Johnson IS their boss. As their boss, he's saying he'll pay their fines for this. Which builds huge loyalty with his players AND probably wouldn't happen anyway, since none of them kneeled last year, and at worst, will stay in the locker room this year with the new rule. Like many things in life, I dont agree with them, but support their right to do so. Or probably more accurately, I don't really care either way.

The employees get a pass from their traitor unamerican boss. Hence the thread title.

Last I checked, supporting peaceful protest is pretty American. Although that may not be a popular stance around here.
I still wish those players who do kneel would better articulate what they're kneeling about - police brutality, Trump, etc.
