Your point is that despite the watered down tax bill some companies will still close plants, move jobs over seas or go out of business? Harley has been having trouble for years. They have posted hire earning for the first time in a while but shipments are still down. Judging a tax bill by one company on the positive or negative side proves nothing and reducing a businesses plan and motivation on one factor when there are obviously many that impact a company it shows a clear lack of economic understanding. REFRAME! (Reframe!) REFRAME, (reframe) It was my understanding Trump was going to keep American jobs in the hands of jobholders. He's rescuing shareholders. Do you think the president runs all American companies? The whole "government creates private sector jobs" is nonsense when liberals say it and it is nonsense when conservatives say it. What the president and the government CAN do is: 1) Increase public sector jobs which just by their nature means higher taxes and/or higher debt. 2) Add or subtract from the taxes, laws and regulations that inhibit or free building private sector business therefore HOPEFULLY creating jobs and increasing competition. 3) Improve infrastructure to help get the resources closer to businesses and the products closer to customers 4) Reduce taxes allowing consumers to keep more of their money which increases spending, investing and savings. What none of these do is directly improve how a company does business, make them hire people or raise salaries. It is supply and demand and profit margins which set the prices. No one said "All companies will raise taxes or share their savings with their employees". There are companies that are still poorly run, companies that are "greedy", etc that will change the picture. |

Hey, it's fun to debate this shit but as an 11 year USMC vet, Viet Nam and Desert Storm (with a 6 year break from 84-90 for you math wizzes), I could give a shit less. Haven't made it to a single anthem since the new stadium was incorporated. If you don't like it, have an extra beer at the tailgate and get to your seats at kickoff.
I paid $30k for PSLs to watch football and monsters vie to give each other concussions. Screw the political sideshows and Chrissee, the caretaker of the team while the Woodster works on moving us to be the London Jets should focus on a super bowl, not this idiocy.

The thing is the players have a right to free speech (but not at work without expecting punishment) and the fans have a right to speak with their wallets. I think if the players came out with a coherent message outside of the game they could have given their cause due attention. Sadly they are just giving a muddied message that can easily be spun as anti-American.
