Unless someone makes us an offer we cant refuse in which case McCown starts the season.
If you disagree and want to put our future behind this bum OL then you probably still wish Idzik was GM.

Right after we signed Teddy, I stated Teddy will be our starting QB and I’m standing by that. Mid season I’m not sure but he looks up for the challenge Not sure about the defense though.

btw, how great is it to see this kid comeback like this. Was always a fan going back to college when I saw some asshole cheap shot him. He just got back up and carved them up.

Never thought i'd see the day when the Jets had a young capable QB let alone two of them.

Jets can never put it together.
We either have a Good O-Line but our QB's either suck or are mediocre Journeymen.
Or we have a Crap O-line but our QB's are better.
OH and the same could be said for our Defense.

This is what should happen but it won’t.

It is PRESEASON. The Oline will be better game 1 between returning players and hopefully either someone via trade or cuts to give depth. As for the D they haven't given up a TD. Am I concerned that there is little pass rush? Sure, but I am not panicking in week 2 of the preseason.
I am absolutely fine starting Bridgewater if he proves to be the better player and we can't get oline help or a 2nd day pick for him.

hopefully either someone via trade or cuts to give depth. Been hearing that one for years. Nobody is dumping a decent OL unless its an albatross contract. But I agree in the sense that we are so bad that we may find an improvement, technically speaking.

Not sure who has that situation but it happens from time to time. I am expecting depth honestly.

I like Bridgewater but he is nothing but trade bait to me. This is not a team that is built for now and Teddy is not the future. He has a very incentive laden contract. If Sam isn’t starting, start McCown. Bridgewater is not bringing this team to a Super Bowl this year and he will be gone for nothing after the season. I am not looking for an 8-8 season with Teddy leading the way. That is not a slight on him, it’s a slight on the current roster.
This team needs to look forward. 2019 is the year to really take a big step forward and getting a draft pick for Teddy makes the most sense.

And by the way, I am not recommending starting McCown.

You could see Teddy's frustration yesterday with the missed catches and his time being guarded.

What happens then? He’s only 25. The obvious answer is trade him but what if Darnold busts and you just traded away a legit starting franchise QB for the next decade? The dynamics are not the same as with Foles because Philly knew Wentz could play, we don’t with Darnold. This is typical Jets no QB for 3 gazillion years then one drops in their laps the minute they go all in on a kid. i've been saying that i'm more excited about Bridgewater than Darnold right now...

Nothings changed for me
Darnold should still be the starter and Teddy should be moved for a 3rd rounder or a decent veteran OL/passrusher.
One of Darnold’s biggest strengths is his resolve. And frankly, I don’t think the OL is a dumpster fire when Beachum and Winters come back. They aren’t world beaters either, but they’re pretty much a league average unit. Nothing close to the shitacular OL the Jets fielded years ago with guys like Anthony Clement and Adrian Clarke.
