I think Frankie is missing the point.

It’s the slippery slope of socialism that’s the issue.

You start with the grand old USA as the epitome of capitalism (not pure capitalism but still the most capitalistic country today). Economy is rolling. Japan and South Korea next. Good solid economies. Then you have countries like France and Italy, Britain. Economy is eh. Then you have Venezuela (and where South Africa is heading). Economy sucks. Then you have the epitome of socialism / communism- NK and Cuba. Living hell.

I don’t include the Nordic countries as that model of socialism only works when there is a collective mindset to do so (homogenous populations). No matter what Bernie Sanders thinks, would never work here or Western Europe.

And China is not socialist. It’s a communist political system that allows socialism and capitalism.

So the point is, we do not want to go down the slippery slope of introducing more socialism into the USA. It always leads to the toilet bowl of an economy.
