It's not really all that funny considering the Jets just hired someone who had worse Stats on his team than ours, though....
He is a good hire Kotite is a respected offensive coach. Kotite is known to be good with QB’s. Kotite is Tough who won’t tolerate bullshit like players constantly showing up late to meetings or skipping them entirely. He’s shown that he’ll quite literally kick their asses off the team for such infractions. Here sounds like the speech Hess made. Im getting flashbacks. all it would take to make it complete he passes on Quinton Williams for a TE

He is a good hire I mean, you goofs can sit around spamming this “Macfucko this and Macfucko that” stuff until your blue in the face. That’s basically what the entire board has turned into. I prefer to not be constantly miserable over entertainment. Gase is a respected offensive coach. Gase is known to be good with QB’s. Gase is a hard ass who won’t tolerate bullshit like players constantly showing up late to meetings or skipping them entirely. He’s shown that he’ll quite literally kick their asses off the team for such infractions. Is he the ideal coach? No, and neither is McCarthy. I could not acgree with this post more. I’m not in love with the Gase hiring but I don’t hate it. I’ve certainly been wrong before. I didn’t like McCarthy or Rhule. I’ll hope for the best. But wow... this board has become unreadable. I’m serious. It is worse than the landing strip. Worse. And that says a lot. I rarely read the landing strip. Now this place is just a bunch of miserable whiny bitches who talk like 6th graders. I remember when this place was fun to read. Now it sucks.

I hate the Gase hiring I do believe Mcarthy was best coach to come along since Parcells and he will end up like Andy Reid with a change of scenery. I think Mcarthy could have bought a lot of what he learned in Greenbay to help change the team from the front office to the locker room. whatever team gets him will end up like the chiefs while the Jets fire Gase and Mac and look for a new coach and GM. I think fans will be feeling the pain for a long time. Gase is a better hire then Rhule who is just a glorified team manager but the only other coach the Jets interviewed worth taking a risk was cliff Kingsbury. I seriously hope Im wrong but this guy reminds me so much of Rich Kotite they have the same identical record same ranking offensively collapsed both teams the same way. Im serious when this guy reminds me of Kotite.

Welp.
I'll go on record to say I like it.
Mike McCarthy was OC for the 2005 49ers.

walterfootball.com/coachfirehire.php#ZEGPmsC1mbDvYoJ4.99Jets hire HC Adam Gase: A+ Grade This is the best hire of this offseason. Adam Gase, once called the "next Bill Belidick" by Dolphins owner Stephen Ross, coached two of three seasons in Miami with his starting quarterback healthy. In those two seasons, Gase took the Dolphins to the playoffs once and had them in postseason contention in the other before Ryan Tannehill got banged up during a victory against the Patriots and was never the same after that. Tannehill, by the way, was one of the worst starters at his position in the NFL. It was quite amazing and impressive that Gase was able to keep the Dolphins in contention despite not having a viable quarterback. This won't be a problem with the Jets. Gase will be able to coach Sam Darnold. This seems like a great fit. Gase has coached up bad quarterbacks to play well, and average quarterbacks to perform on a somewhat high level. Gase will be able to help Darnold take the next step. This is a fantastic hire, fully worthy of an A+.

They BLEW IT. Just like every time they searched for a Head Coach.
And while Gase isn't another College-tryout, he wasn't their first choice as ONCE AGAIN the Jets wanted to have yet ANOTHER person try and become an NFL Head Coach at the Jets expense. keyword : Try.
Bowles Tried and he Failed. Guess where he is now? In Tampa....as their DC, not HC.
I think we'll end up the same way with Gase. Although he was Coach of the Miami Dolphags, he would've been hard-pressed to find ANY team to hire him for their HC....ASIDE FROM THE JETS.
Don't get me wrong. I'll give Gase a shot but only because I have no choice BUT to give him one since I didn't hire the John Tortorella wannabe. Looks like it's a wait-and-see situation now.
In the meantime, like you said, whichever team is fortunate to have McCarthy will excel imo. Meanwhile, we will have 3 more years of mediocre, nothing-happening Jets football with this guy Macc hired. *sigh*
Only reason to watch next season is Sam Darnold. Just like this past season.
Aside from that, I have ZERO expectations for next season.

First comment below on that page :
Gase...you're serious? Miami's offense ranked 24, 25, and 31 during his tenure, because he didn't have a healthy TANNEHILL???

Just for the record I don't love this hire, However he did get 7-9 out of a bad Dolphins team that had Brock Oswiler play in 7 games this year. Quite a few skill position players going back to Denver devolped under him. If we're being honest with ourselves this was the second best coach we could of gotten on paper.

McCarthy is likely to find next years cupboard pretty bare - there’s been a lot of coaching turnover these past few years.
I guess I could see Panthers or Jags as possible spots - but Jags are not a fit really. Maybe Arizona moves on. It didn’t seem that so many teams were lining up to schedule McCarthy TBH.
Let’s not canonize him so quickly ....
Edit: the only interview McC had was with the Jets

I get what you're saying and I will give him a chance.
But it just hurts to have McCarthy right there and choosing someone else.
I'm over it now. I just hope Sam does develop into an even better QB. He's the only reason for me to watch the Jets.

I want to know what if anything he had to do with the fins getting rid of Jay Ajayi and Jarvis Landry. Landry took a better contract from the Browns

Tom DIMaggio! This dipshit wants us all to know he thinks his advice is as solid as a HOF QB. I wrote it down.
